Fourth of July Weekend

 

Over Fourth of July weekend, we went on a family walk, we got ice cream, we went to a playground we'd never been to before, & we visited a historic site (which, I found out later, was the location of Jason Marz's wedding!)  I made a special lunch for everyone on the Fourth of July, and Brady enjoyed time painting and playing with the splash pad in our backyard.

I'll never forget last summer when we got ready to watch fireworks in our neighborhood for the first time.  I was fully expecting to see fireworks at ground level.  I was not expecting a 45 minute show with fireworks in the air!  This year's show ended up being a bit shorter than originally planned, but we loved seeing fireworks in the sky!

While Brady looks adorable swinging while enjoying the fireworks (or being in Dan's arms!) we realized after I took these videos that it probably wasn't best for us to be located directly underneath where they were being set off!  We were in the playground area with many others, because it is fenced in (and it was SO dark when the fireworks weren't going off!)  Next year I need to remember to have us watch the fireworks from our driveway or from the field, and Brady either needs to be secured in a wagon or he needs to be wearing a glow in the dark outfit!  Last year he was still in his stroller, which made things much easier.
