The First Day of School

We were very excited for Tyler to have his first day of third grade, and for Brady to have his first day of preschool!  We were nervous for Brady, though, because he had never spent such a long time with people he didn't know, and we knew he would be upset.  It wasn't a perfect day, but thankfully everything went better than I expected.  I was up way too early, and Brady was too.  When I knew he probably wanted to go back to sleep, it was time to leave for school.  His teachers said he did cry a bit, and then he fell asleep, but he didn't cry or sleep as long as we expected.  When I picked him up four hours later, he was happy, and I was so excited to see him.  We played at home for a bit, made a Starbucks run, then he was ready for a nap.  Then it was time to pick up Tyler, who had a great first day of third grade!  :-)

Both boys did a great job posing for their first day of school photos, and I just love the photo of them on our front step!  (Brady definitely looked a little confused about what was going on!)  Seeing them both walking to school with Dan with their backpacks on, was so cute.  :-)

School Orientation

It was so exciting to have Tyler and Brady attend orientation together at the same school!  Because Brady is in a lower grade (preschool) and Tyler is in a higher grade (3rd), Dan and I were able to visit both of their classrooms on Back to School night.  (Tyler and Brady had fun with my parents while we were gone!)  I was so excited to see that Tyler's teacher had a teal classroom (Tyler's favorite color and mine too!) and a JMU flag!  It was SO exciting to see Brady's name posted in his classroom and we are so excited for him to start school!

It was so adorable to see both boys (and Brady with his backpack!) walking to the school on orientation day.  :-) Tyler was so cute looking around Brady's preschool room with him, and pointing out fun toys he would be able to play with.  Brady got to meet both of his teachers, then he and Dan went home while Tyler and I picked up his box of school supplies in the gym.  Then we made our way to his classroom, where he met his teacher and saw who his classmates are.  He was so excited to see some friends from last year.

We also ran into Tyler's teacher from last year and I took his picture with her.  Sadly, Tyler had been sick on the last day of school last year, but his teacher made sure he got his end of the year award (we are so proud of him!) and gift (bubbles that Brady loved!)
