More New Words & Videos

 

I can barely keep track of Brady's new words, which is so fun!  It feels like every day he either says something new or he shows off a new trick (like counting backwards!)  In fact, at ABA, they are no longer tracking how many words he says per session, because he started consistently saying almost 300 words (in less than 3 hours!)  We are just amazed by his progress & definitely can tell that the combination of having kindergarten & ABA is really great for him.  Apparently at ABA they have seen him writing out the ABCs backwards!

Lately, he has said...

sailboat, daddy car, muffin, red, blue, yellow, green, cow moo, marker, Brady's old house, bye bye airplane, sports car, milk, basketball, mama upstairs, paint, skateboard, & more skittles (as soon as he walked into ABA - ha!)  

We also love hearing him say, "brother" as well as his brother's name!  :-)

Brady's New Words

 

It seems like every day Brady says something new, & it's so fun!  On the way to school each morning, he keeps pointing out new things he sees - "Barn!  Pumpkin!"  :-)  For weeks, when we asked him his name, he'd say, "Baby" or "Brady" without the "R".  Now when we ask him his name, he says, "Wilson!"  SO cute!

When he sees certain words in books, like door, dog, & bus, he says them out loud!  These are the words he has said recently all on his own:

grass, gold fish, ocean, whoopsie, nose, milkshake, eggs, mouse, box, railroad, tool, road, barn, bridge, airplane (then he says, "Apa!"), dip dip, notebook, socks, books, phone, nose, pretzel, ladder, duck, fast, moon, car, pumpkin

He has been saying two words & three words as well...

mama fix, big rig, more food, more upstairs, choo choo train, ice cream truck, ice cream cone, school bus, watch me, fire station, open mama, Paw Patrol, more fruit snacks, more outside, push mama, no cake & no Starbucks (whenever we are in the drive through!), & at school he will say more monkey bars

He is back to saying all of his ABCs perfectly & even sings the "now I know my ABCs, next time won't you sing with me" part.  Of course one of my favorite things he says is, "Uncle Bobby!" whenever we say, "Uncle Brian."  He is so funny.

September

 

September has been very busy for the boys, with school, and ABA for Brady.  I have been driving both boys to school in the morning (their schools are less than ten minutes apart) but Tyler rides the bus home in the afternoon.  The first week of school, Brady only had one session of ABA, but now he is going three times a week.  He has been skipping nap most days.  It's tough getting up early but having a set schedule has been nice.  Tyler likes to play online with his friend, Sawyer, after school.  They were in the same class last year but are in different classes this year.  Once we are all home, we tend to go outside.  Tyler has been learning jumping tricks on his bike & Brady has been going to the playground daily.  It's been nice seeing neighbors & catching up but we are definitely looking forward to fall weather!

I love this video so much!  Brady's sweet, little voice, his expression, our neighbor being so sweet to him, & his big smile at the end.  :-)

Fifth Grade & September Fun So Far

 

Tyler is officially a 5th grader!  His first day of school was the day after Brady's first day, which worked out great.  While Brady was at school, Tyler & I went to a big outdoor mall & he picked out lots of new shirts & some new shoes for school.  He had a good first day (two students from his fourth grade class are in his class this year, too) & said there are a lot of rules in fifth grade.  We can't believe it's his last year of elementary school!

Over Labor Day weekend, Dan's mom visited & was our first overnight guest!  The night she stayed with the boys, I went to Chesapeake with my friend, Vanessa.  We were celebrating her 40th birthday this past July with fancy salon appointments & lots of shopping!  We had a great time & Tyler & Brady had a great time visiting with their Mummi!  Then on Sunday, Dan & Tyler went to the water park at Kings Dominion!
