Week 39

This week Dan and I flew to Nashville to attend Dan's sister's wedding. Dan and I stayed at the Hermitage Hotel in Nashville, which was decorated beautifully for Christmas. We had a wonderful time! Caroline was a gorgeous bride & Brian was a handsome groom. :-) We had the privilege of getting to know Brian's parents, his sisters, his brother-in-law, and his nephew. Caroline has married into an amazing family! Dan did a great job walking Caroline down the aisle. I love the song she chose. :-)

Tyler stayed with my parents and had a very fun time playing with all of his new toys. :-) Dan and I are so thankful to my parents for doing such an amazing job watching Tyler. He has learned to throw a ball, which is very exciting. :-)

Christmas - Part Two :-)

While my parents & Steven headed over to see Shane, Kristen, & Ben, we were on our way to see Tyler's grandma & Aunt Caroline! We had a wonderful time opening lots of gifts (Tyler received the most of course!) and just spending time together. :-) I know Tyler loved his first Christmas very much!

Christmas - Part 1

Tyler loved spending Christmas morning with Grandma, Grandpa, & Uncle Steven! He seemed very excited about his new toys, but he especially loved all of the wrapping paper & tissue paper. He took a quick nap before we headed off... :-)

Christmas Eve 2011 - Tyler is 9 Months Old!

We can't believe Tyler is 9 months old! He loves to hug & give kisses! :-) He gives lots of hugs to his family members & to his elephant & penguin (stuffed animal) friends. :-) He is getting VERY close to crawling and is even starting to pull himself up.

On Christmas Eve, Tyler was so excited that he didn't want to take a nap! He finally fell asleep and slept 2 hours and 45 minutes - his new record. While my dad & brother Steven were at the Redskins game, we packed and got ready, then met up with them and my mom at my parents house. We had a delicious dinner and watched While You Were Sleeping. After watching Love Actually many years in a row, then All I Want For Christmas last year, we decided to switch things up. It was definitely my favorite Christmas Eve ever! :-)

It's Almost Christmas :-)

So far I've watched Sleepless in Seattle & Home Alone 2, and I plan to watch You've Got Mail, Home Alone, Serendipity, Love Actually, & The Family Stone. I love Christmas movies! (I like to consider any movie that has even one Christmas scene, a Christmas movie) :-)

Week 38

Tyler and I attended two holiday parties on the same day! One party was at Baby Avery's house, where we participated in a white elephant gift exchange. Tyler got to bring home a toy turtle that plays music. The other party we attended that day was a holiday pajama party. Later in the week, Tyler got to see Vanessa, who was visiting. He went to the mall and to our favorite towne center with us and was such a little trooper! The next day he got to see Katie, who was visiting from Italy! I enjoyed a relaxing dinner at The Melting Pot with Katie & Julie. Finally, we had a playdate at Baby Emma's house. :-)

Tyler loves to imitate sounds. There are two sounds that he seems to like the best. When I ask him to say "Mama" or "Dada" he just laughs. :-) He loves to roll over to the Christmas tree and grab the gifts & ornaments. He is such a happy boy!!

Week 37

December continues to be a super busy month! This week we had a playdate with Baby Brooklyn and we attended a playdate at Reed & Dylan's house. We also met Baby Eli and his mom Nichole at Starbucks. Eli is only six days younger than Tyler! We met up with Allison & Baby Lucas, too - so fun! Finally, we had a coffee date with Shaina & we attended a family Christmas party, which was hosted by my parents. :-)

My mom has been saying for many, many weeks now that Tyler says the word, "hi". I finally realized this week that she is right and that "hi" is his first official word :-) This week he said hi to Shaina, Allison, and a woman at the grocery store as soon as he saw them. SO cute!

Week 36

Tyler got to meet Santa this week and he loved him! He kept looking up at him and smiling, and he tried to eat his outfit. :-) It took awhile but Tyler finally looked at the camera. We love the picture!

We met Barbara & Leigh for coffee this week and we attended four playdates! One at Baby Avery's house, one at Baby Brooklyn's house, one at Baby Zachary's house, and one at Brayden's house! I went to a "mom's only" fondue/white elephant party (so fun!) and we went to our neighborhood's holiday market. We bought cupcakes & cake pops from We Take the Cupcake. Yum! :-)

Tyler doesn't seem interested in crawling just yet, but he has started to pull himself up like a big boy! Also, if I say "clap clap" he will smile, take his right hand, and clap it against mine. One night when Dan came home from work, Tyler gave him 11 hugs! It was the cutest thing we've ever seen. :-)
