Colonial Day

This week Tyler had a playdate with his friends Noah, Baby Alex, Zachary, and Baby Austin.  He also went with me to visit my friend, Chrissy.  :-)  I got to have a long, relaxing lunch with my friend Julie, while Tyler and Dan went to Moes.  Tyler and I met his friends Dylan, Reed, and Baby Lily at the park and then had lunch with them afterwards.  :-)  It was Colonial Day at my school and Tyler dressed up too for his brief visit!  :-)

Organization Day

 

I've been feeling overwhelmed by Tyler's toys for a very long time.  I've always admired my friends and how they've organized their children's toys.  We have had no organization ever.  When I would clean, Tyler would wake up, look around, & say, "It's so clean!" followed by his favorite phrase, "I love to make a mess!"  Within minutes, every toy would be on the floor.  :-)  Therefore, I've had little motivation to clean every night.  I knew I really needed a day where we just cleaned and organized and this week we had a really rainy day that was a perfect day to stay inside.  First I organized every single toy on our middle floor (where most of them are).  Tyler has A LOT of cars and trucks!  We organized all of the cars by color and put everything in bins.  I put half of his toys in storage, where I can easily get them whenever he wants them.  But we're really going to try playing with one or two bins at a time, then cleaning those toys up, before we take out more toys.  I put all of his characters in one bin and was amazed how he sat and played with them.  He took one bin of trucks into the kitchen to play, then when he was finished, he cleaned all of them up and we put them away.  Why didn't I do this sooner?!  :-) 

Easter :-)

We had a wonderful Easter!  Tyler seemed to be very happy with his Easter basket.  He got a bunny and a sheep and some Spiderman stickers and candy.  He loves sitting on the new bench (my Easter gift!) that I found while in Richmond.  :-)

Tyler has been very vocal lately about what he'd like to wear.  He kept saying that he wanted to wear his "fire truck shirt" and I had no idea what shirt he meant.  Finally he spotted his fire truck pajama top and said, "This is the one I'm talking about, Mama," and he insisted that he wear it.  :-)  Even Dan (who rarely comments on outfits) said, "That's his Easter outfit?"  :-) 

We had a wonderful time at my parents' house.  They had a delicious lunch for us and yummy desserts and it was great to be able to spend time with everyone.  :-)  Tyler is always so happy to get to play with his cousins!  I can't believe it's his fourth Easter!!

Spring Break, Part 2

During the second part of spring break, Tyler and I attended a four hour playdate/pizza party with twelve of his toddler and baby friends.  We had so much fun!  We went to Wendy's more than once and took another trip to the volleyball court.  We also went to a fenced in park, which we both loved!  We finally watched Frozen (multiple times!) and I've had all of the songs in my head ever since.  :-) 

I got to spend a day with my friend Vanessa, which was wonderful!  I love shopping days with her.  :-)  Tyler had a great time with my parents that day and he was very happy with the new bench and containers I brought home.  The most exciting part of our week was our family photo shoot!  We finally have professional photos of the three of us and I am so happy!  I've seen about ten of the pictures so far and can't wait to see the rest.  :-)
