January Fun

We've had some crazy weather this January!  We've had some beautiful days that have felt like spring, and some sunny (but freezing) days where we want to be outside as little as possible.  Tyler has been busy being a first grader, and enjoys his basketball practices and games.  Brady is making friends at his weekly gymnastics class, and even ran over to his teacher and gave her a high five this week!  He loves the balance beam and any skill that involves flipping, but I think playing with the balls and bubbles at the end of class is his favorite part.  He just learned how to actually push the door to the gym open, and managed to escape once but I was right behind him!  :-)

Dan and Tyler enjoyed going to a fun bounce house this month, and we all enjoyed going to my nephew Ben's 9th birthday party!  Brady and I got to see my Aunt Barbara at my parents' house, and had a great time visiting with her.  We also went to my friend Jen's house, where Brady got to see eight of his friends, including two baby friends!  I enjoyed a dinner with my friend, Nina, and one with my friends, Angie & Michelle.  Dan and I also enjoyed a dinner out.  My parents were kind enough to babysit!  They also had Tyler over for a sleepover one night!  Tyler and Brady are excited to see their Mummi again soon, and to hear about her recent trip to Florida!

Tyler :-)

Tyler is all about basketball these days, and spending time with his dad!  He is playing in a basketball league for the first time, which meets on Saturdays.  He is also enjoying playing basketball at home (both in the kitchen and on his video games!) and watching basketball.  A lot of his writing warm ups at school have been about basketball lately.  :-)

Tyler has lost eight teeth total, including two that he lost while at school!  He has been enjoying all of his long weekends this month.  He's only had one full week of school, and over an eight week period, he's only been to school on a Monday one time!  He recently got to have a sleepover at his Gag and Pap's house, and he's been happy with the warm weather we've been having, since he loves to play outside!

He is always saying things that make us laugh.  Here are the latest Tyler quotes...

Me:  "Tyler, do you think Brady follows instructions?"
Tyler:  "Uh...no."

One morning he walked down stairs and started to cry.  I said, "What's wrong, Tyler?" and he said, "I have to go to school in three minutes."  I said, "Tyler, it's Saturday!!"  :-)

"I've never seen that in my whole entire life.  A whole six years.  I've been playing that game for months."

"I want to live in peace here and just play video games and not have anyone mess me up."

Me:  "Let's go get Starbucks."
Tyler:  "Mom, you can't get Starbucks every day!!"

(While playing his video game...)  "I'm not going to be talking to you while I play.  Only when I need food."
