The Fishing Pier

This week Tyler and I met up with Baby Joey & Baby Noah & their moms to see a "Mommy & Baby" movie. We hadn't been to a movie in four months and since Tyler crawls now, I was very nervous. They were playing "The Vow", which I really wanted to see, so I thought we'd give it a chance. Luckily, Tyler fell asleep within the first ten minutes of the movie and woke up during the last five. He did a great job and I really enjoyed the movie. :-) We also had a playdate with Baby Avery & Baby Brooklyn, and I met up with my friend Crystal and her two sons for lunch one day while Tyler and Dan had some "daddy & baby" time. :-)

The "lake" (as we like to call it) near our home now has a fishing pier! One day we had gorgeous weather so we decided to spend some time on the pier. Tyler loved watching the geese. Dan and I also enjoyed lunch at Otani on his birthday while Tyler spent time with his Grandma Torbert.

Tyler is doing a great job picking up his food and successfully putting pieces in his mouth. He is less interested in baby food all of a sudden and really wants more "big boy" food. We're still having trouble getting him to look at the camera during family portraits. :-)

Having Fun

This was a very busy week!! We visited with Chrissy and Brayden and picked up the cupcakes for my friend Shanna's surprise baby shower! Her baby boy will be here very soon. :-) Dan and I went to another baby shower the next day for my friend Leigh. Her baby boy will be here very soon too! I can't wait to meet these sweet babies and Tyler will love having new friends. :-)

We had a playdate with Brooklyn & Avery, one with Zach & Noah, & one with Baby Luke! Tyler got to spend time with all of his grandparents which he loved. I enjoyed a coffee date with my friend Robbie and went to my first consignment sale. I bought Tyler some clothes and toys, including a microwave, a fire truck, a giraffe tricycle, and a collection of animals from FAO Schwarz. He seems to like them so far. :-) We also got together with my friend Lindsay, who I had not seen in 14 years (!) and her baby Brian, who is only two weeks younger than Tyler. :-)

Tyler is walking while holding onto things, such as the sofa. We are wondering how long it will be before he is walking on his own. He loves to touch the digital alarm clocks and he loves to look up & laugh at lights & fans. He was able to get 50% of his strawberry yogurt bites into his mouth this week (the rest were found in his lap). :-)

BaBa BaBa BaBa

This week Tyler had his first fever. :-( I had to cancel three of his playdates & it was so sad to see him feeling so bad. Thank goodness Dan was home with us. Once Tyler started feeling better I know he was anxious to see his baby friends & get out of the house. We attended a playdate at Baby Brooklyn's house and we had Baby Eli over for a playdate. Dan and I enjoyed a date to Sweetwater & Sweetfrog for Valentine's Day and I went to Otani with seven of the moms in my neighborhood mom's group. :-)

Tyler has been "talking" a lot this week! He especially loves talking to his daddy & saying, "bababababa". He is also starting to pull up on things then let go so that he is standing on his own. He looooves to open the cabinets under the tv stand even though it is frowned upon. :-)

Tyler's 1st Valentine's Day :-)

Tyler seemed alittle unsure about Valentine's Day. He liked his stuffed heart but kept trying to eat it. :-( He went to a Valentine's Day party with 11 of his baby friends. When we tried to take a picture of all of the babies together, Tyler cried and crawled away. :-( However, I think he enjoyed drawing pictures in his Valentines to his dad, his grandparents, & his great grandma. He received valentines from his baby friends, Avery, Zach, Noah, & Joey - so sweet! All of the excitement led to a 2 hour and 40 minute nap, which is unheard of around here. :-)

Dan's Mini Me

We found out this week that my brother & sister-in-law will be having a baby girl in June - so exciting!! Tyler and I had lunch with our friend Judy, we attended a French "crepe" party (yum!) at Baby Ryan's house, we had a playdate with Baby Brooklyn, and Tyler saw lots of his baby friends at Baby Avery's house. I was able to enjoy a girls dinner, a book club with co-workers from my old school, & a friend's baby shower.

Tyler is lifting his arms to be picked up (SO cute!!) & picking up his food. He is able to put the food in his mouth but finds it much more entertaining to throw his food on the floor. Tyler had some wild hair days this week and is looking more and more like his dad! :-)

Who Is This Big Boy?

There have been multiple times this week that I have thought about the movie, Overboard. There is a scene where Goldie Hawn keeps saying, "bababababa" and this week, that is exactly what Tyler has been saying. :-) He has also said, "mama" multiple times and it really seems like he is actually talking to me. :-) He wants very much to climb the stairs but (luckily) he hasn't figured out how to do it just yet. He does not have any patience for hats or bibs anymore and he keeps walking all over the place with his walker. :-)

This week we had playdates with Baby Brooklyn, Baby Avery, Baby Eli, & Baby Cole! We also met up with Baby Zachary & Baby Noah at Pinkberry. We attended a playdate (hosted by Baby Joey) at Play n Learn & we had our baby boy friends over for a playdate at our house. Tyler got to see all of his grandparents over the weekend, and even stayed with my parents overnight so Dan & I could have a date night. We had to go to Toys R Us to get crib teething protectors (something I never thought to put on our baby registry, that is for sure!)
