12 Years!

I can't believe Dan and I got married 12 years ago today!

Our first year of marriage was significant because I became pregnant with Tyler!  We traveled to Aruba & to the Grand Cayman Islands!

Our second year of marriage was significant because we became parents to the most adorable baby boy!

Our third year of marriage was significant because we decided to change our plan...instead of trying to have two children, three years apart, we decided four years apart would be better.  (Little did we know that it would actually take almost five!)

Our fourth year of marriage was significant because we realized that Dan needed to quit his job.  Every now & then I'll say to him, "Remember that summer when we had no income & no insurance?  That was crazy!"  

Our fifth year of marriage was significant because I became pregnant, but unfortunately that pregnancy was not to be.

Our sixth year of marriage was significant because we found out we were expecting our rainbow baby!

Our seventh year of marriage was significant because we welcomed the second most adorable baby boy!

Our eighth year of marriage was significant because we were trying to figure out life as a family of four!

Our ninth year of marriage was significant because we decided we really needed more space...we decided we would move in the summer of 2022, but we couldn't decide whether to move to Richmond or to stay in Northern Virginia.

Our tenth year of marriage was significant because we changed our plan & bought our first home together in Richmond! (At the time, even though we'd been together for almost 15 years, we liked to joke that buying a home together felt, "a little too serious!")

Our eleventh year of marriage was significant because it was the year that we spent every single day at home together (minus the seven days Tyler & Dan went on their "bro trip").  We adopted our cat, Skye, & I managed to destroy the engine in our CRV. Oops!  Cars have never been my thing.

These 12 years we have spent lots of time with friends & family, we've taken family trips to the beach, & we've tried our best to entertain & keep up with our very active boys!  Dan has done 3,000+ workouts (not an exaggeration!) & I have taken 500,000 photos (maybe only a slight exaggeration).  There have been good days & great days & not so good days, but we've kept going, one day at a time.  I am very thankful for 12 happy years with this handsome man of mine!

It was so fun going through our wedding photos & looking at all of the little details!  It was such a wonderful day!
