I had such a great 40th birthday! Even though my original plans changed a bit, it was still a really nice day! My parents were able to come over and celebrate with us. I received so many cards in the mail with so many sweet messages (especially from my niece & nephews!) My friend, Megan, sent me a funny gift!
We got wonderful news from Dan's mom that her sister, Paula, became a grandma on my birthday! Her son and his wife welcomed an adorable baby boy, and in the picture we were sent, he was wrapped in a teal blanket! I am honored to share my birthday with him and think it's so neat that we are exactly 40 years apart!
The only hiccup on my birthday was when my dad was about to take a picture of me holding my cake. I went to grab the cake stand and the cake slid off and fell upside down onto the floor! My parents were so sweet to run over to the grocery store to buy a replacement cake! I love all of the pictures with the second cake. :-) My dad took most of the photos and my mom helped to get Brady to smile. He has never been so smiley for so many family photos in a row! I love all of the pictures so much. :-) At night I found out that I at least made it to round 7 in the Shoot & Share photo contest! I thought I may have been out in round 4, so I was so excited!
I will never forget Brady coming up to me in the kitchen on my birthday, holding the gift wrapped in teal paper, and saying in the sweetest voice ever, "Mama, mama." He wanted to open the gift, which he did, but he seemed disappointed that it was a book. (I was thrilled because it was the new Kate White book!) I didn't capture the moment on video, but later on in the day, he said, "Mama" again (while Tyler was listening to his teacher in the background!)
