Brady has been a lot of fun so far this spring! He is so fun in the car right now, noticing all of the different vehicles, and is so good for errands and "cart" time. He does not like going out to eat much, or sitting in a high chair, so we haven't taken him out to eat in quite a while. His constant climbing in the kitchen (literally standing on the kitchen table then trying to walk the windowsill!) was driving me a little crazy. I finally realized that we needed to move all of the chairs, which has made this week much more enjoyable!
He still loves rocks, water (bath time), basketball, and climbing. :-) His favorite thing lately has been enjoying a popsicle on our deck. He also loves bubbles lately! His time at baby gym (with his "diaper squad" as Tyler likes to say!) is winding down. Last week he kept escaping from the gym over and over again. A little girl sitting in the waiting room kept yelling, "Get him! Get him!" when he'd run past her and toward the front door. :-) But he did very well during the second half of class! He had walked the low beam by himself two weeks ago for the first time, and this week I let him walk the high beam alone for the first time. The steps to get on the beam were missing, but he still managed to climb onto the beam! He also did the skill of the week, then wanted to do it a second time! Whenever the balls come out for play time, he runs over to the closet where they keep the big basketball hoop that he loves to play with.
Brady does a great job in his stroller for walks, and when we pick up Tyler from school. If the weather is nice, we go to the school playground. Brady loves running up and down the hills, walking across the bridge, and going down the slide. After awhile he likes to sit in his stroller to have his juice and watch the other kids play. He looks so cute holding his juice box all by himself! He's been doing a great job with his speech sessions, and even had two in one day this past week! Lately he has said, "up, mama, mmm, no, & bye bye mail" (when I mailed a letter!) We love hearing his little voice! He's been much more vocal in general since Easter, which we love. :-)
Unfortunately, he somehow managed to open our baby gate and he made it downstairs all by himself for the first time. We are hoping that'll be the last time he manages to do that for awhile!! He still loves to use the arm rest of the sofa as his own personal balance beam. He is a great napper but doesn't like to sleep for too long of a period at night. If we have to drive somewhere far and he gets off schedule, he will sometimes take two naps, or a late second nap. This week he "napped" from 6:45-8:15 at night, then watched the Survivor finale with me! He sometimes seems to think he is a college student, and I remember Tyler being the same way at this age. In fact, when Tyler was this age, I was working part time, so Tyler would nap from 4:15-6 or 6:30 almost every day, then he'd be up really late. He was able to make it through the day without napping (whereas Brady almost always naps four hours after waking up for the day!) but then he'd always fall asleep when we were stuck in traffic driving home. It is so fun to see their similarities and differences! Tyler is already so, so tan from playing outside so much, and Brady is very pale! They remind me of my brothers, and I love that. :-) We are so excited to take them both to the pool this weekend! We are hopeful that Brady will be much easier at the pool this summer compared to last summer, when he walked to walk around the pool nonstop. :-)
