This week Dan, Tyler, & I went to the Outer Banks! We stayed at the same place where we stayed last year & loved being right on the beach. Tyler was afraid of the sand and the ocean the first day or two. He got used to both & was soon running all over the place. His wanted to climb the stairs leading to the pool & to the parking lot. We knew that Tyler called anything on the road (including bicycles) "tractors". But on this trip we realized that Tyler thinks that anything with wheels is a "tractor". :-) He'd also watch the birds in the sky & yell, "gog!" :-) He loved seeing all of the airplanes too. I saw dolphins swimming by three different days. One day there were five of them! I went into the ocean one time...same as last year!
Every morning we had breakfast at the hotel & Tyler waved to everyone & enjoyed eating red grapes. He would sit in his highchair for breakfast (and at Subway, where he could watch the ceiling fan!) but that was it. He wanted to be constantly moving & exploring.
Each day, we sent pictures to all of Tyler's grandparents who were missing him back home. When he hears their voices on the phone, he blows kisses. :-) Tyler loved walking on the sand dunes & walking along the pier. We went to the beach every day & to the pool most days. Tyler liked taking baths in the big jacuzzi tub in our room & was always wiped out by the end of each day.
For the first time ever after a vacation, we arrived home before midnight. We stopped to see my parents so that Tyler could give my mom a hug & kiss on her birthday! We still got home by 7 pm & were able to do three loads of laundry & start to unpack. My mom had cleaned our entire house, painted a table that desperately needed it, & my dad had made a home repair. There were fresh flowers everywhere & groceries too. We were so grateful! :-) It was a very fun week!
