We are SO excited to be in our new house!!! Once we toured the house, it took almost seven and a half weeks to actually be living in it, and we love our new home SO much! We absolutely love only having two floors (as opposed to three) because it's so much easier to keep track of Brady. We aren't missing the baby gates, that is for sure!
We absolutely love having a master bathroom (with two sinks and a big tub that Tyler and Brady definitely love!) We are so glad the boys have a bathroom with two sinks too. We love all of the big closets and love having a real pantry for the first time ever! We also love the ceiling fans! (Brady especially loves them!) Everyone has done much better than I thought we would adjusting to our new surroundings! It's funny that Brady wanted to be outside nonstop when we were living in our townhouse...here he wants to be doing Tyler's scooter inside the house (thank goodness we have a circle!) or escaping to the garage (thank goodness the second lock seems to be keeping him out now!) He has taken many trips to the playground down the street, though, and especially loves the big boy swing.
It is SO nice for Dan to have an office, and he is very excited that his "mancave" is bigger than his old one! My favorite feature are the built ins and I love having a little mudroom area! :-) It is so nice having a play room for Brady, and we can't believe that the dishwasher isn't noisy when it's running! We were so used to our loud, 15 year old dishwasher! Also, we are able to hear trains! The noise is very faint but still fun to hear!
I can't believe there are little details about the house I never noticed before (despite looking at the photos online every single day!) For example, the carpet on the first floor is lighter than the carpet on the stairs and the second floor. We really like both shades a lot! And I never, ever noticed that the built ins are actually gray, which looks so nice with all of our white frames. We love all of the paint colors and are so happy that we don't have to paint! There is only one wall we may choose to paint in the future (in Brady's room - I'm missing having teal walls for him but he has a lot of teal accents!) Our first floor is nearly complete. We need to order a sofa, and I ordered a comfy chair for the play room. I also want to add more pictures to the "picture wall". :-) We still a whole lot to do on the second floor, and a bunch of boxes to unpack and put away, but I have an area set up in the master bedroom that I love. We have a loft area where we are recreating our family room from our townhouse. Having photos on display all over the house was my top priority because they make our new house feel like home. :-)
We love our new neighborhood so much so far! I used to refer to our old neighborhood as "Pleasantville" and now I call our new one "Mayberry". :-) It definitely reminds me of a neighborhood on Dennis the Menace or Leave it to Beaver - straight out of the 50s and so cute! :-) We love that the neighborhood seems like it's in its own little world, yet we only have to drive about three minutes down the road to find a drive thru Starbucks (a must for me!) and many other stores. There is even a drive thru Panera, which I had only ever heard of in Nashville. :-)
We were only down to two dining chairs before we moved. I ordered two stools that arrived this week, and the boys really like them! We ordered pizza last night and were finally able to sit "all together" (as Tyler used to say when he was little!) and it was SO nice! We are so, so happy to be in our new home! I know we are going to make so many wonderful memories here. :-) We honestly can't believe that all of this has happened over the past two months, and that we have made such a big move, but we couldn't be happier!
After I took the video I figured out how to hide the tv mounting on the wall! I actually love not having a tv on the first floor.
These pictures were taken on July 23rd, two days after we went to settlement on our new house. Brady and I drove down to bring a car load of things, and my parents met us. It was the first time my parents (and Brady!) saw the house in person. :-)
We were SO happy to have my friend, Vanessa, and her kids, Milton and Ella, over this past Wednesday! Vanessa took the photo of the four of us on our new front step! We are really looking forward to spending more time with them, and with Vanessa's husband, Adam too! They helped us with so many different things during our moving process and we are so appreciative!
We are SO excited for my parents to come visit on Wednesday this week, and for Dan's mom and sister to come visit in a few weeks! We are also going to have some of our family members who live nearby over on Saturday! We are so excited to be able to see them more now. :-)
I think these videos of Brady seeing his new house for the first time are SO adorable!
