More Beach Photos & Videos!

Caroline took some photos of us on our 15 year wedding anniversary (August 8th!) and this was my favorite one...

I always like to take a video of Tyler and Brady in the back seat on vacation, and it's always crazy to see how much they've changed over the years!

It was so fun to see Brady playing with his cousin, Liam...

Beach Trip!

We had so much fun at the beach!  We were happy to be back in Dewey Beach, for the first time in three years!  We stayed at the Golden Leaf hotel, where we stayed in 2018 and 2019.  I love staying there because it is right on the beach & there are so many shops & restaurants we can walk to.  Our favorite restaurant, Nalu, is just steps away from our hotel!

After driving to the beach (which took longer than expected due to the rain!) we unloaded all of our bags, said hi to Dan's sister, Caroline, her husband, Brian, and their son, Liam, and then we headed to dinner at Nalu!  The next day, Brady went swimming in the hotel pool (which is on the roof of the hotel!), then we all went out to lunch at Kaisy's Delights, which is an Austrian restaurant.  Then we headed to the boardwalk, where the boys enjoyed riding rides and eating ice cream.  Brady wanted to head back to the hotel, and when we got there, he wrote, "Beach" on a piece of paper, letting me know that he wanted some beach time!  (We had been making schedules for each day of our trip & he was ready to write his own schedule!)  It hit me that when he saw people playing in the ocean & in the sand while we were at the Boardwalk, he realized that he wanted to be back home playing at the beach too!  Dan and Tyler were watching the Olympic basketball game, and the waves were really big, so I convinced Brady to just play in the sand (though we did jump a few waves by the shore!)  Then we all got ready for dinner.

The next day, we were expecting rain all day, so we planned to visit a bounce place called Shell We Bounce.  Brady and I walked to the beach when the sun came out, so he could build sandcastles & I could take beach photos of him.  I loved how the photos turned out, even with it being a very windy day!  (There were 22 mph winds!)  Brady went swimming first with Liam, followed by a hot shower since the water was really cold!  After that, Brady and I took it easy in our hotel room, and Dan and Tyler walked to a pizza place with Caroline, Brian, and Liam.

On our last day, the sun was out, and it was warmer, which made it a great pool and beach day!  Brady went with me to the beach to make sandcastles in the morning.  Then Caroline, Brian, & Liam met us there so I could take their beach photos!  (Caroline always uses their beach photos for their Christmas cards!)  We wanted to recreate a photo of Liam and Brady from 2018, and it turned out SO cute!  After that, we headed to the pool, and even the adults were willing to get in!  We all went to lunch after that, then we headed to the beach.  Then we packed up and headed home, which was perfect timing because Dan was able to watch the last three quarters of the gold medal basketball game!

Unfortunately, Dan's mom wasn't able to join us this year, after testing positive for covid.  We sent her photos and videos throughout our trip, so she could feel that she was there with us!  This was the first trip where the boys and I had two separate rooms - Dan and Tyler stayed in one room and Brady and I stayed in another room.  This worked out SO well, especially since Dan and Tyler like to stay up late and sleep in, while Brady and I like to go to sleep early and wake up early!

Cousins at the beach (2018 & 2024)...

Tyler & Brady have gotten just a little bit taller...

Brady kept saying, "Mummi?" over & over again...

Back Home

We are back home from Dewey Beach!  We went into our vacation thinking it may rain the entire time, but the weather ended up being much better than we expected it to be! We definitely had some cooler weather (which I liked!) and a little bit of drizzle.  But the sun came out for Brady's beach photo shoot, on a day we expected to have nonstop rain!  We drove through rainstorms getting to our hotel, but thankfully by our last day, the sun was shining, and we could enjoy a beach and pool day.  (Of course, Brady went into the pool even on the cooler days!)  I can't wait to go through all of the photos & videos!)
