Nature Hikes

 

Tyler and Brady had a very interesting winter break this year.  Instead of having the entire week before Christmas off, they were off from 12/23-1/8.  Thankfully, we had some sunny weather during the first week of January, and we were able to do two nature hikes.  Dan had to work that week, so Brady and I trekked through the woods & followed Tyler to his favorite mountain biking spot.  I was in charge of capturing videos & photos while Brady searched for sticks.  Trying to take the perfect photo at the perfect time was definitely a challenge!

After his first run, he said, "Did you get the shot?" and I replied, "Um...not exactly!"  During his second and third runs I would get closer & closer to discovering the right timing, but it took about 10 tries to get the perfect shot!  Sometimes, even if my timing was right, my camera settings were off, or the focus was off.  It's very tricky!  I definitely have a newfound appreciation for sports photographers!

Tyler & Dan had so much fun attending a Wizards game!  Tyler kept busy with mountain biking & Brady continues to love gymnastics!

Brady said, "Merry Christmas!" so often on Christmas Eve (though sadly I didn't catch it on tape) & it kept reminding Dan and I of when Tyler was four and he would say, "Merry Christmas Mom & Dad!"  I guess Brady was paying attention when we brought it up, because then he started adding, "mom & dad!"

Winter Fest

 

The boys & I had lots of fun at Winterfest!  Brady seemed to really like the lights & he was very happy to get to ride his favorite treehouse ride three different times!  I wish I had managed to get a picture of Dan while there, but I'm glad he made it into one of my videos!  I love the photos he took of me, Tyler, & Brady in front of the cutest holiday set up!

My phone changed the coloring on this photo of Brady & it looks so neat...
