Keeping Ourselves Entertained

It's been a very interesting six weeks.  We've been trying to figure out how to make the days work now that life has changed so much.  Dan works from home now & can't go to the gym.  Tyler and Brady can't go to school, and Brady can't go to speech.  There are no more playground trips or trips to the library or to see friends.  And we all really miss seeing Papaw, Gaga, Mummi, & our other family members!  It definitely has taken us a long time to figure out how to make each day happy.  We aren't used to spending this much time under one roof!

Tyler is doing a great job getting his school work done.  He has had two class meetings so far, where he has had the chance to see his teacher and all of his classmates at once.  We were so excited for both boys to get videos from their teachers early on!  Brady was adorable trying to show Miss Liz his toys when he saw her on my phone for video chats!

Brady has been nonstop for six weeks straight.  School closed just as the time change happened (so it's lighter longer each day) and the weather started getting nicer.  Brady decided that he didn't want to watch tv (other than a Little Baby Bum show on my phone!) or play with his toys.  Instead, he wanted to be outside as much as possible, or going on car rides.  He started putting his socks on (letting me know he was ready to go somewhere!) before seven o'clock in the morning.  He especially loves running around on the field behind our house, and spying on our neighbors.  He likes to spy from our deck too.

I finally caved and ordered Brady some new toys.  Thankfully he has played with his Connect Four game each day since it arrived, and he loves his new bubble toy.  We are excited for more items to arrive, which will hopefully grab his attention & allow me to get some things done around the house!  I have been talking to my friend, Vanessa, once or twice a week on the phone, and texting and emailing quite a bit with friends.  Brady and I have gone on a few walks with my friend, Nina.  (While we know we aren't supposed to be seeing friends or family, Nina is our exception to the rule because she lives alone and I remember how difficult that can be, especially at a time like this!)

I have discovered that Brady likes to watch Wheel of Fortune because he likes it when they spin the wheel.  :-)  I have been listening to a lot of Bachelor related podcasts, and we have all been taking lots of walks, especially to the fishing pier.  Dan has figured out new ways to work out at home and is becoming quite a runner.  Brady continues to say more and more words, and he's so tired from all of his time outside that he is still napping each day.

There have been many things that have made me smile over these past six weeks, especially this picture of Brady...

I just love the way Brady is smiling at Tyler in the picture!

I have had to move a few pieces of furniture, not only to prevent Brady from opening the deck door 100x per day, but also to have a rocking chair on our middle floor.  We haven't had one on the middle floor in years, and Brady seems to like being rocked and sung to!

These are all of my favorite "spying" photos of Brady...

I was so excited to see a double rainbow when I was out with my "rainbow baby" one day.  Someone in my neighborhood was able to get a picture of the entire rainbow!

I am loving my new table from Crate & Barrel!  I have wanted to have this table for many years!  I also love the changes I made to one of the frames we have on display.

I made some slight changes in Brady's room that I am loving too!

I am so glad that I am able to text regularly with my friends from Tyler's school.  My friend, Jess, sent us these pictures I had never seen before...from when our kids were in kindergarten!
