Brady :-)

Our little man is a climber!  He wants to be climbing the sofa, the coffee table, or anything else he thinks he can climb, all day long when he is home.  He's been taking a two to three hour nap each day, and sleeping about nine to ten hours at night...still not in his crib, but he lasted three hours and thirty minutes recently!  He loves bring right next to me when he sleeps (or in my arms!) but thankfully he almost always sleeps independently for naps!

Even though he loves being with me when he's tired, or hurt, when Dan is home Brady is all about Daddy!  He either wants Dan to bounce him, flip him, carry him around, read to him, or he will rest his head on Dan's shoulder.

He loves playing basketball like his brother, and he doesn't like being told that it's too cold to go outside.  He likes to put his shoes on all by himself, and he always chooses a toy to carry in his stroller when we take Tyler to school or pick him up.  He goes to baby gymnastics class once a week (Tyler likes to say, "You're in a diaper squad, Brady!") and he's going to start speech sessions soon.  We love his little voice and hope to start hearing it a lot more!  Brady is very quiet for the most part, unless he's hysterically laughing, which is usually if I catch him climbing on the sofa, or if his brother is doing something funny.  We love the little curls behind his ears SO much!  I don't know when I'll ever be able to let anyone cut his hair!

Making Me Happy :-)

I started collecting photos for this blog post a year ago (which is why Brady is so tiny & bald in the photos of him with his photo albums!)  I was inspired by a blogger I have followed for years, who always shares her favorite things each Friday.  Her posts made me think about the little things at home that make me happy.  :-)

A year and a half ago, we got our kitchen cabinets painted white, which I had wanted to do for a long time!  Right before Brady was born, we had most of our house repainted, and before Thanksgiving this year, we had our carpets professionally cleaned, which has made a huge difference.  We finally got a new tv stand, which I've been wanting for years!  We visited my friend Carrie at her new house this past summer, and she and her husband had the perfect tv stand, and told me it was from Wayfair.  I think I ordered it a day later, and Dan put it together when he was off on Veteran's Day!

But I keep finding that even little things around the house make me happy each day.  Like seeing Dan choose the cute mug I designed on Shutterfly for his coffee whenever he sees it in our cabinet.  Or new frames we've added to our walls (especially teal ones!)  I love having my favorite photo of me with my mom, right next to my favorite photo of me as a mom with my boys!

A few years ago, when the new Home Goods/TJ Maxx store opened minutes from our house, I was thrilled.  Tyler had just started preschool at the time, so I seemed to go there at least once a week while he was at school.  So many things that I love in our home are from that store!  This past year, I redid our foyer (painting the inside of our front door the same color as the closet in Brady's nursery!) and our middle floor bathroom, as well as my closet!  :-)  I'm constantly trying to declutter and donate items we no longer need.

When Tyler was a baby, I felt like making photo books was my full time job.  ;-)  But that only lasted the first year.  After that, I made him a birthday photo book, and a book filled with my favorite Tyler quotes and pictures.  When Brady was born, I kept printing photos and putting them into old school photo books.  :-)  I finally made a photo book for him when he was one, and then this fall I caught up (a little bit!) on pictures of both Tyler and Brady.  Shutterfly offered unlimited extra pages in their photo books for the first time, so I made them for Christmas gifts!

Sometimes it's just the little things that give you a boost, and I find that my favorite color (teal!) and my favorite photos of my favorite people make me happy every single day!  :-)
