Brady is 17 Months Old!

Brady is 17 months old, and we aren't sure how that is possible!  He insists on eating a popsicle all by himself (no more sharing with mama).  He also likes to step onto the deck without any assistance.  If I lift him down, he cries or whines and we have to go back into the house so he can do it himself.  He is Mr. Independent lately!  He's been climbing the couch in one spot for the past few weeks, but now he's learned how to climb any section.  :-(  He has three new teeth, so 11 total!  He loves to give his brother hugs, and to play with chalk and bubbles.  He has had perfect behavior for Tyler's school drop offs and pick ups (I hope I don't jinx him for the last 13 days of school!)  Some days he will take one long nap, but he hasn't quite switched over from two naps a day yet.  He loves watching Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom and he loves reading books, especially his Sofie the Giraffe book, Bizzy Bear, Little Deer, & all of his peekaboo books.  :-)  He says, "mama" and "goo goo gah gah" and will dance & shake.  :-)  He loves taking baths and sometimes takes two a day.  We can't wait to watch him play at the pool next weekend!

My 37th Birthday

This was one of my favorite birthdays!  Dan took the day off, and we all went to Tyler's appointment to get his cast off.  :-)  Thankfully, the x-ray showed that his arm had fully healed.  Dan took him to school, then Dan, Brady, and I ate lunch together before my parents' arrived.  After visiting with them for a little while, Dan went to get Tyler and to take him to the school playground for the first time in four weeks!  Brady played with my parents and took a nap, and I went to TJ Maxx/Home Goods for two hours by myself - which was heavenly.  :-)  When I got home, my parents had decorated, and everyone sang to me.  The woman who made our wedding cake made me the most delicious cake!!  It was a wonderful day.  :-)

Mother's Day

We had a lot of fun on Mother's Day this year!  I loved the card I got from my boys, and the red roses from Dan.  Most of all, it was so nice to spend a relaxing day together.  We took Brady to a nearby farm for the first time.  He seemed to enjoy seeing all of the animals we've been reading about, and he did a great job on his first carousel ride and tractor ride.  :-)

In the car, we talked about Tyler's upcoming appointment to get his cast off.  He said, "Next day I'm gonna cry tears of happiness."  :-)

The day before Mother's Day, I loved seeing Tyler march out of school with his classmates, while holding a special gift for me.  He gave me a beautiful plant (the one he gave me last year is still alive!) and I loved seeing how he answered various questions about me...

Tyler only has to wear his cast for one more week!  :-)  Brady's favorite spot in the house is next to our refrigerator!  He has been making it clear to us when he wants to eat, go outside to play, or take a bath.  He did his very first drawing recently, on his high chair.  :-)  We love our boys!!  :-)
