School Picture Day :-)

 

This week Tyler had his first school picture day.  I can't wait to see the picture!  (He told me there was a picture of the whole group too.)  :-)  He was a good sport about taking a bath and having his hair washed before school, which we don't normally do. 

 

After many weeks of having Tyler's "city" set up all over our middle floor, I started warning Tyler that the "cleaning fairy" would soon be making a visit to our house.  With the city all set up, Tyler didn't want to have any friends over, and it was time for us to have some guests!  It took me every second of my two hour preschool break to clean.  Tyler was much less grumpy when he got home than I predicted.  He told Dan later that the cleaning fairy did an especially good job moving all of his army guys up to his room (without knocking them over!)  ;-)  I had forgotten how happy it makes me to have a clean house...even if it only lasts for a few minutes. 

 

He had his friends Noah, Alex, Zachary, and Austin over the following day.  He also took two trips to the school playground with Dan, while I spent all weekend traveling to and from photo shoots and editing!  :-)  Tyler had Columbus Day off from preschool, which we celebrated with a trip to Target (one of Tyler's favorite places to go!).  Poor Dan had to work, but we are counting down to Veterans Day, when he will be off.  :-)

School Field Trip

 

This week, Tyler's preschool had their field trip to a nearby farm.  Thankfully, my mom was able to come with us!  The first hour we had perfect, cool weather.  Tyler and my mom enjoyed a trip on the hayride with Tyler's classmates & teachers.  After that, we went to the motorcycle section (Tyler's favorite).  He also went down a huge slide (my mom did too!) and we all took a walk through the forest, which had a lot of different little house throughout the path.  Tyler enjoyed dancing in the Alice in Wonderland room.  :-)  He picked out three pumpkins on our way out and a little tractor, too.  When we got home we decided to set up a farm using all of his toys.  He included a police car since there was one at the farm.  :-)

 

This was Tyler's fourth trip to the farm!  :-)

 

 

The Tree

 

I forgot how pretty the tree behind our house is in the fall!  I love looking into the nursery and seeing the tree out the window!  We know it stays like this for such a short time but we love it.  :-)

Pregnancy Update

20 weeks...

 28 weeks...

 

I am definitely feeling very pregnant!!  Baby loves to be moving nonstop.  We can't believe I'm 28 weeks and only have 12 weeks (or hopefully 11!) to go.  Tyler walked into the nursery last week and said, "This is gonna be the best baby room ever!"  :-)  It is not quite done but we are getting there.  We can't wait to meet our baby and just know this baby is going to be a boy!  I had a gut feeling when I was pregnant with Tyler that he was a boy, and I've had a gut feeling this entire pregnancy too.  :-)

 

When I was pregnant with Tyler, I watched Beverly Hills, 90210 almost every single day.  I probably managed to watch all ten seasons over the nine months of my pregnancy.  That much tv watching certainly isn't possible this time around, but the one tv show I've watched through this whole pregnancy has been Press Your Luck, the game show from the 80s.  Tyler calls it the "whammy show" and will sometimes watch with me.  :-)

So Much Rain

 

This week we rarely saw the sun.  After so many rainy days in a row, we had to take out some of the toys Tyler hasn't played with in a long time.  Thankfully those kept him entertained.  :-) We didn't see Dan for three days and two nights because of a work conference and we are so glad he is back home!  I was supposed to start my fall photo shoots over the weekend but both shoots had to be postponed because of the weather.  I was able to have two coffee dates - one with my friend, Barbara, and one with my friend Christa.  Tyler had a playdate with Zachary and Austin and went to the school playground.  We also had a visit from our friend, Lomy.  We loved watching the Redskins game this week and Dan won $215 by winning his football pool two weeks in a row!  We took Tyler to his favorite bounce house and out for ice cream.  :-)

 

Tyler has been practicing his smile for preschool pictures next week!  ;-)

This week was Dan's mom's birthday!  We brought lunch to her house and were able to celebrate with her, Caroline, Brian, and Liam.   I spent all day Saturday out of town, attending my friend Vanessa's baby shower!  Unfortunately, I got caught in a huge traffic jam coming home, which meant Dan and Tyler had two extra hours of bonding time together.  Thankfully, my mom was able to visit to break up the day!  Tyler took a couple of trips to the park this week.  One day we even met up with his friends, Noah, Alex, Zachary, and Austin. 

The Pumpkin Patch

 

 

Tyler and I went to the same pumpkin patch we've gone to since he was a baby.  We didn't stay long and he was in no mood for pictures but he was happy to pick out a mini pumpkin.  :-)
