The Zoo

 

Tyler and I met up with a bunch of our friends at a nearby zoo.  It is definitely my kind of zoo - very small with the only "scary" animal being one snake.  We liked seeing the zebras, lemurs, goats, and other animals.   Unfortunately, I was the only one who managed to let a goat escape when we tried to enter the "goat area".  Oops!  :-)  Tyler loved the slides, the little houses, the train, & the tractor.  He had a lot of fun running around with his friends Joey & Josh, Zack & Austin, and Baby Lily.  It was very hot but thankfully they have an indoor area with a discovery zone and a huge climbing structure.  We had never been there before but would definitely go again!  :-)

Back Home

 

The one thing Tyler cried about while we were on vacation was his dress up clothes.  We had brought his Captain America outfit, but there were times when he really wanted to dress up like a policeman and a fireman.  :-)

 

It's always hard to transition back to being home after a vacation!  We took Tyler to the pool and to the park and he had a playdate with his friends, Noah, Alex, Zachary, and Austin.  We also met my parents and my niece, Julia, at Tyler's favorite indoor playground.  :-)

Pirate Cruise :-)

 

Tyler loved going on a pirate cruise!  He had never been on a boat before.  :-)  Dan and I were cracking up at his expression throughout 90% of the trip (which didn't show too much enthusiasm) but he has told us again and again how much fun he had!  He loved having a pirate sword, a pirate tattoo, and a pirate vest!  He got to use a water cannon to spray water at "Stinky Pete" and he got to dig through the treasure chest for treasure.  :-)  Lucky Dan was given a name tag that said, "Flounder."  Little did we know that would mean he would be called upon to sing and dance on the boat.  :-)  He did a great job!

 

 

Children's Museum

 

Tyler was very excited to go back to the children's museum.  He loved painting, dressing up like a pilot and a pirate, and watching the trains.  :-)  He even went back a second time with Dan!

Vacation :-)

 

 

 

 

Dan, Tyler, and I had a great time on vacation!!  Tyler loved going to a park that has a real tree house, riding on the trolley, going on a pirate cruise, playing at the children's museum, and spending almost every day at the beach.  We even got to spend a day at the beach with my brother Shane and sister-in-law, Kristen!  Tyler loved shopping for prizes with the vacation money my parents gave him, and he loved jumping the waves and making sand castles.  :-)
