We always like to acknowledge Christmas Adam in my family. :-) We hung out at home and finished wrapping gifts. Tyler woke up at 10 then went to sleep at 8 (which NEVER happens!!!) so I got to watch Love Actually from start to finish. Dan even watched some of it with me. :-) Tyler dressed up in his santa outfit to surprise Dan - so cute!

Getting Ready For Christmas
I love having the house decorated for Christmas!! While shopping this year I found a lot of silver Christmas decorations. I think I went to Home Goods and Michaels at least three times. :-) I thought it would be fun to change all of the photos we have framed on our middle floor, to Christmas/snow pictures. I didn't realize we have over 40 framed pictures in our tiny space! I still am in disbelief that Christmas is two days away, but we are ready. :-)
Tyler & Liam
Tyler got to meet his Cousin Liam for the first time this week!! He also got to meet his Uncle Brian and he loved seeing his Aunt Caroline again. We are so glad they were able to come here for Christmas this year. :-) We all got together at Dan's mom's house and she made us a delicious lunch. I had bought Tyler and Liam matching hats at Target weeks ago and two sets of matching shirts (Tyler decided they should wear green!) Tyler wasn't fully cooperative but they looked adorable and I got some great pictures of Liam, who I've been waiting to meet and photograph for many months! Dan and I can't believe how light Liam feels and how tiny he looks compared to Tyler. Tyler insisted that we all go to the park afterwards, despite the cold. :-)
Tyler got to spend hours playing with my parents, and then with Dan, while I spent a day shopping with my friend Vanessa. I also had a coffee date with my friend Tara. I finally watched a Christmas movie from start to finish, Sleepless in Seattle, and I have been reading The Astronaut Wives Club, which is so good. We are all SO excited for Christmas!! :-)

Little Kicker
A lot of the videos I take never seem to make it onto our computer. I found these today from a Halloween event Tyler and I attended. :-)

"Elise Navida"
This week Tyler and I attended a Christmas party at the home of his friends, Avery & Harper. This is our fourth year in a row attending the party and we both had a great time. Tyler loved seeing Santa again! He went to two indoor playgrounds this week and stayed with my parents twice so I could do some Christmas shopping. We went to the library and finally got library cards! We were thankful for warmer weather over the weekend. Dan and Tyler went to the park while I (finally!) organized our kitchen. Tyler and I hosted two playdates at our house - one with Noah & Baby Alex and one with Noah, Alex, Zachary, and Baby Austin - which meant we cleaned a lot this week. :-)
Tyler has been repeating some of our phrases, such as, "I bet you did" and "I'll try my best" :-) He loves singing, "Elise Navida" which we love! He has one animal book that he wants to read daily and he always says, "Aww, squeaky mouse!" :-)

"It's Broken But That's Okay!"
When Tyler and I went on a Target date the Saturday after Thanksgiving, he chose The Lego Movie as his "prize". He kept the movie in his hands the entire time we were in the store, until we reached the ornament aisle and he spotted Captain America. "I change my mind! I want that!" I said, "Are you sure, Tyler? Ornaments aren't toys. We're just going to put it on the tree." He said, "I'm sure, Mama. I'll ask for the Lego movie for my birthday!" and he handed me the dvd. Before we even left the store, as we sat in the Target Pizza Hut (because, according to Tyler, we can't possibly go to Target without sharing a pizza!), he dropped the ornament and it broke. I actually thought he would have a meltdown, or demand a new one, but he stayed very calm. I found Captain America's head and arm and shield on the floor, and we took him home. Tyler has a special section on the tree that has ornaments he knows he's allowed to touch. He hung his ornament carefully and said, "It's broken but that's okay!" with a big smile. He took him down one more time (resulting in the loss of another arm) but now he stays on the side of the tree and Tyler proudly shows him off to anyone who comes over. Our Captain America ornament is not perfect, he is broken, but he's actually more interesting that way. I want to hang him on our tree, year after year, and let it remind us of the 2014 holiday season. And how lucky we were to get to spend every day with our sweet, curious, three year old boy, who has a never ending amount of energy, who will never be three years old at Christmas again.
