We had a very fun 4th of July! We went to Dan's mom's house and had lunch (Tyler was thrilled with the new legos she gave him) and then we went to a fair. Tyler enjoyed seeing fire trucks, ambulances, tractors, and a train. My brother Steven also invited us to a pool party, where Tyler enjoyed swimming for almost two hours! For many hours afterwards, he kept saying, "I want to live at Uncle Steven's pool house." :-)

Fourth of July
We had a very fun 4th of July! We went to Dan's mom's house and had lunch (Tyler was thrilled with the new legos she gave him) and then we went to a fair. Tyler enjoyed seeing fire trucks, ambulances, tractors, and a train. My brother Steven also invited us to a pool party, where Tyler enjoyed swimming for almost two hours! For many hours afterwards, he kept saying, "I want to live at Uncle Steven's pool house." :-)
Big Boy Room
I once read an article that said the more effort one puts into decorating a nursery, the more unlikely it will be that the expected child will want to sleep there. That was certainly the case for us! Tyler hasn't slept in his nursery in two and a half years. He has always favored our guest bed over his crib but now the guest bed is in his "big boy room"! One of the best parts of going on vacation is seeing our house when we get back. My parents always clean for us, which we greatly appreciate!! They got Tyler an adorable dump truck night light too.
This week Tyler got a major haircut and I keep telling him that I do not recognize him! He looks so much older with his hair short. He enjoyed a playdate at Zachary and Baby Austin's house, where he also got to see his friends Noah and Baby Alex. I had a coffee date with my friend Barbara and a dinner date with my friend Chrissy. Dan, Tyler, and I all survived a week with no cable whatsoever, which was not easy. ;-)

Tyler at the Beach :-)
Tyler kept cracking us up at the beach. He got into the pool fully clothed for the second year in a row. He managed to spend all of the "vacation money" my parents gave him within the first three days we were there. In all, he left South Carolina with eleven prizes and seems to understand that there will be no more prizes from his mommy and daddy until Christmas. I keep telling him that his prize now is that he gets to spend all day, every day with Mommy again. :-)
This was the first year that he actually went into the ocean, which was very fun for all of us! He loved jumping each time a wave came by. I can't believe how much he's grown since our first beach trip!
I had a number of favorite Tyler quotes on this trip:
"Sometimes I hug my goggy. Sometimes...because he's my best friend."
"That was awkward."
"This is a nice bed."
"I'm gonna tell you something."
"I love it here!" (He said this over and over again!)
"I can fix it. I can because I'm super Tyler!"
"ta-da!" (multiple times)
"You are a super singer Mama" :-)
On the trip back (Tyler did the best in the car during our 11.5 hour trip!) I happened to say the word, "whatever" and Tyler said, "Like my Ever? Baby Ever?" I said, "Do you love her, Tyler?" and he said, "Yes...and Bella. She's like a little princess." :-)

Beach Trip
Dan, Tyler, and I had such a great time in Hilton Head, South Carolina! We had perfect weather and went to the beach every day. Tyler also loved the pool, the splash park, and a special place for kids where he was able to dress up like a pilot! We went to a huge park and to see the lighthouse. We also had a visit from my good friend, Megan, her husband, and her two girls, Bella and Ever. Tyler loved spending time with them. :-)

Julia Turns Two
This week my adorable niece Julia turned two! We went to her birthday party at a coffehouse and got to see a band perform. Everyone sang happy birthday to her and she was such a sweet birthday girl. I also had my last day of work!!! (Though it has not really hit me quite yet.) :-)

Little Speller
This week, Tyler enjoyed a trip to the park, and a playdate with his friends Reed, Dylan, & Baby Lily. On Father's Day, we picked up lunch and brought it over to Dan's mom's house. Then we enjoyed a trip to a nearby lake. Tyler loved walking around and exploring. We are very impressed with his spelling lately! :-)
