Brady's Recorder Concert

 

Brady had his 4th grade recorder concert last night and it was SO adorable!  We love watching him perform with his class!  Brady and I got to his school 35 minutes before the doors opened so that I would get a good seat.  I managed to get seats in the 4th row, and Dan and I had a perfect view of Brady!  (Dan was able to get there after work, about ten minutes before the concert started.  Tyler stayed home to watch Winnie, who had surgery this past Monday.)  

We loved seeing Brady playing his recorder.  There were a few times he turned around and covered his ears, since it probably was a bit overwhelming for him!  He noticed Dan and I towards the end of the concert and once he saw us, he kept looking at me and saying, "Go?"  At one point he even said, "Mama?  What?  Go?"  He was ready to hit the road!  It was his third performance of the day, so I'm sure he was exhausted!

Dan’s Birthday Weekend

 

It was so nice that Dan's birthday fell on a Saturday this year!  After school on Friday, Brady and I went out to buy Dan four balloons.  (One of them, a heart shaped valentine balloon that said, "I Love You" was sent up into the sky by Brady before I could take a picture of it!)  On Friday night, Brady and I took Tyler to one of his favorite trails and thankfully there was a playground where Brady could play.  On Dan's birthday, Brady and I went to his gymnastics class and to the neighborhood basketball court (twice).  Dan and Tyler went biking & brought home Mexican takeout.  We sang to Dan and had cake and he opened his cards.  I think he had a great day!

Once the ice and snow melted, Brady and I started spending a lot of time at our neighborhood basketball court!  I'm happy to be back walking the trails, too.

Happy Birthday to Dan!

 

We are wishing a very happy 48th birthday to Dan today!  He is officially the same age that my mom was when she helped me set up my classroom for my first year of teaching (SO crazy!)  I remember when he was 27 and I'm very glad I've been able to celebrate 21 of his birthdays with him.  Tyler, Brady, Skye, Winnie, and I love him very much!
