One thing I have discovered since getting an iPhone is that it is much harder to keep up with blogging!  I must be taking even more photos than I did before, which I didn’t even know was possible!

February Fun

This month I had two-hour phone dates with my friends Chrissy and Nina, as well as lunch in the city with my friend, Vanessa!  Brady was thrilled to go biking at the pump track with Dan & Tyler, and he loves going on bike rides around the neighborhood with Dan on the weekends.  He's been very busy with gymnastics, ABA, and 2nd grade!  Tyler likes to spend all of his free time mountain biking or doing jumps!  He got a responsibility award from his math teacher!  Unfortunately, he was sick the day that the award would have been presented to him, but his principal brought it to him the next day.  I have started my second year as the official photographer at Brady's gymnastics center.  That, along with subbing in our county here and there, has made life feel especially busy!!  It has also felt quite crazy to be back in a middle school environment.  Teaching middle school for almost nine years (from the fall of 2002 to spring of 2011), and stepping back in 2024, makes me feel like I've traveled in a time machine.  New trends (to me) - fluffy hair for boys, every student has a chrome book and a cell phone, students chew gum in class & have "snack" during their second block, and they are allowed to have backpacks in class!  Plus, a lot of the teachers don't turn the lights on!  It's very wild (to me!)

Highlights...

Watching the Superbowl (though Brady was asleep by the end of the half time show & I was definitely asleep by the start of the 4th quarter!)  We were all hoping the 49ers would win, because we like that some of the coaches have ties to the Commanders.  (Plus Tyler and Dan said we can't root for the Chiefs because they beat the Ravens!)  Brady wore a Tom Brady Patriot's shirt (of course!), I wore a "Go Taylor's Boyfriend" shirt, & the guy who delivered our Applebee's order was wearing a Carolina Panthers shirt, so many teams were highlighted!  Our neighborhood lost power right after the half-time show, so Dan and Tyler were scrambling for their phones to be able to watch the rest of the game!  This was the best picture I could get of my shirt, since Dan and Tyler were out mountain biking when I took it (and I wouldn't trust B with my camera!)

Happy 46th Birthday to Dan!

We are wishing a very happy 46th birthday to Dan today!  (Fun fact - in two more years, he will be the same age my mom was when she helped me set up my classroom for my first year of teaching!)  I am so glad that I have been able to celebrate 19 (!!!!) birthdays with Dan!  I remember when he was 27, and now he is a wonderful father of a 12 year old & 8 year old!  We love him so much and are so thankful for him!
