One day started like this...

And ended like this...

More Valentine’s Day Photos

Valentine's Day was busy!  I had a photo shoot in the morning then Dan and I were able to go out to lunch!  (We ran into two other couples from our neighborhood at the restaurant!  That’s town life!)  Brady was a trooper going to both school and ABA!

I love this photo of Dan and Tyler that popped up in my Shutterfly memories…

A Brady Update

Brady loves to sing!  He is SO good at memorizing songs.  I often sing, "Take Me Home, Country Roads," while driving the country roads, and one day while I was driving, Brady just started singing, "West Virginia, mountain mama, take me home, to the place, where I belong, West Virginia, mountain mama, take me home!"  He is such a good singer & I can't wait for him to be in chorus one day!

Some funny recent stories...

He came home from school one day & immediately opened his backpack, which never happens.  He took out a laptop (!!!) and sat on the couch and turned it on.  My immediate thought was, "Perhaps I missed an email..." (which certainly has happened before) because his name was on it.  But because of the gleam in his eye, my second thought was that he may have snuck the laptop in his backpack (especially because he had snuck something in his backpack before school that day!)  Since Tyler has had a chrome book from school since the third grade, Brady probably wanted to be just like his brother.  Now when I need Brady to smile big for the camera, I just have to say, "Brady, don't forget - laptops have to stay at school."

Another day, I sent Brady to school wearing shirt A, but he left school wearing shirt B.  I didn't know that, though, because he was wearing a coat.  So imagine my surprise when I pick him up after ABA and he is wearing shirt C (borrowed from the center!) and Miss Allison was holding a soaked shirt B.  I was so confused because I didn't remember him wearing shirt B that morning.  Once I got home and went through his backpack, I saw shirt A (which he had chewed...we are back in a chewing phase and even had to buy new headphones!)  I then realized that shirt B was the random shirt I had sent in as an extra one at the beginning of the year, so no wonder I didn't recognize it!  Brady always manages to keep me on my toes!

When he had a substitute ABA teacher the other day, and she didn't know what word he was saying, he finally said, "C-o-l-o-r!" because he wanted to color!  Sometimes at home I will ask him to spell a word if I don't know what he's trying to tell me, and thankfully he is a good speller!  Sometimes he will type the word, but most of the time he will just say the letters out loud.  The other day I asked him, "How do you spell coffee?  And he said, "c-o-f-f-e-e!"  I had no idea that he knew how to spell that word, but it certainly makes sense, since it's one of my favorite things in the world!

A lot of times I will say, "Daddy is going to take Tyler somewhere," because Dan and Tyler often go mountain biking on the weekends, and Brady will say, "He'll be back!"  Then within a few minutes he will start saying, "Daddy come back home?"

He loves to find an item on amazon, show it to me, and say, "Delivery will bring it?"  He will also bring me a toy that seems to be missing a piece, or he'll bring me an item that is broken, & when I ask, "Who did it?" he says, "It was Brady!"  He very clearly said, "Can you push me?" when he was on the swing at the playground recently.  Our neighborhood playground is one of his favorite places to be, and he especially loves to go there with my parents when they visit on Thursdays!

I got to sub at Brady's school recently & I got to be with him for about five minutes.  As soon as he walked into his classroom and saw me, he said, "Go home?"

His new favorite hobby is using a screwdriver to take apart his cars!

We always love to hear him read…

This is one of my favorite videos of Brady!  It's from December 2021, when I was picking him up from ABA. Every time I picked him up, he would always immediately start saying, "Bye Bye Miss Libby!" and waving goodbye to his teacher, and it was sooo cute!!! I cannot believe how little he is (and that we had already been living in Richmond for over a year when this was taken!)

It sounds like he's saying, "Lizzy" which is adorable, and even if he had a substitute teacher (who was not named Libby) he would say, "Bye Bye Miss Libby!
