Cousins :-)

 

 

This week Tyler got to see all of his cousins!!  We went to Dan's mom's house for a delicious lunch, and Tyler got to see his Aunt Caroline, Uncle Brian, and Cousin Liam.  We took a walk to the park, which made Tyler very happy.  We also met up with his cousins, Ben and Julia, at a bounce house.  :-)  We met my friend Crystal and her three boys at Tyler's favorite indoor playground too.  We took trips to the park and the pier with Dan (he and Tyler were dressed as twins).  :-)

Our baby has been very active this week!  I started feeling movement weeks ago, but I had only felt one or two really good kicks up until 22 weeks.  But this week it's been kick after kick and I love it.  :-)  Dan got to feel one too!

Tyler's room and the baby's room are side by side, and I find that whenever I go upstairs, I stand in the spot right outside the two doors and look into one room and then the other.  I can't believe that ten years ago these rooms were an office and a guest room, and now they are a nursery and a little boy's room.  :-)  I wasn't too happy when Tyler starting to place stickers on his window and he said, "But Mom, it's MY room."  :-)  Seeing the nursery begin to really look like nursery (despite more work we still need to do) makes me so happy! 

August Days

 

This week, Dan, Tyler, and I went to a pool party for Tyler's friend Reed's fifth birthday.  We went to the pool the next day for a "pool picnic" and Tyler was thrilled that the ice cream man showed up.  Tyler has been very busy making his "creations" all over our middle floor.  He loves setting up cities and different lego sets.  He got to see my parents a lot this week, and Dan's mom too!  He went to his favorite indoor playground twice.  We met my friend Shaina there one day, and her daughters.  :-)

 

About two weeks ago I started to panic that we hadn't done much to prepare for our new arrival.  Having four months to go sounds both long and short at the same time!  The last two weeks we've been working to organize and clear out everything in the nursery except for the furniture.  We've made a lot of progress and still have a lot more to do.  Tyler likes to say, "Can you believe you're going to have two kids?!"  :-)

20 Weeks

 

This week, Tyler was a trooper while we ran a bunch of errands and took multiple trips to Home Depot for paint samples.  :-)  He went to his favorite indoor playground, where we met up with his friend, Grace.  We also had dinner with our friends, Chrissy, Dennis, & Brayden.  Tyler is always happy when he gets to play with Brayden!  We took trips to the pier, the volleyball court, and the playground.  We also went to the library to hear a presentation and see a search and rescue dog, but Tyler didn't last too long.  He does not enjoy sitting still!  I got to have dinner with my friends, Barbara and Leigh, while Dan and Tyler enjoyed quality time together playing video games.  :-)

 

Dan and I were very excited for our ultrasound this week.  The technician said that our baby is healthy and active.  :-)  When people ask Tyler if he thinks he'll be having a little brother or a little sister, he always says, "We think it's a boy, but we'll still be happy if it's a girl."  It has been sixteen months since we decided we wanted to start trying to have another baby.  This has felt like a very long road and we are thrilled to have made it to the halfway mark. 

Six Year Wedding Anniversary

 

We can't believe it's been six years since we got married on 8-8-09!  Tyler had a great time staying at my parents' house overnight, while Dan and I enjoyed a quiet night just the two of us (which will probably be our last one for a long time!!)  We stayed at a hotel that is part of a towne center and it was a perfect night to walk around.  We went out to dinner, ordered room service for breakfast, and just relaxed.  It was wonderful.  :-)

 

Five years ago, on our first anniversary, I was only a few weeks pregnant with Tyler.  We never would have guessed that it would be five years later when I would be pregnant again.  Dan took these pictures of me so we could remember when I was 19 weeks pregnant on our six year anniversary.  :-)

 

 

 

 

A Haircut

 

This week Tyler went with me to see a friend I hadn't seen in over a year, who is about to move to South Carolina.  He had a playdate at Noah and Alex's house and one at Zachary's house too.  We took a trip to the library (Tyler decided to wear his police outfit) and to the pool (Dan got to come with us!)  Tyler got to see his Mummi, who is back from her trip to Europe, and my parents too!  He went to his favorite indoor playground and got his hair cut.  He always looks so much older to me when his hair is short!
