Birthday Details & More Pictures

On his birthday, Tyler went to one of his favorite indoor playgrounds, and we met his friends Reed & Baby Lily, and their mom, Christa.  Tyler had fun dressing up like a pizza man.  :-)  My parents came over with one more gift for Tyler (a Jake pirate ship!) and Dan and I sang "Happy Birthday" to him and celebrated with cupcakes.  Any time someone said, "Happy Birthday!" to Tyler today, he would respond by saying, "Happy Birthday!"  Adorable :-)

This is a very typical family photo for us!

Tyler's 4th Birthday Party

Tyler had so much fun at his birthday party!  Since we had such a big party last year we thought that this year we'd have a small family party and the theme was trains.  :-)  During one of the snow days a few weeks ago, Tyler helped me paint his train.  He came up with the idea to set up the chairs so that one person could be the train conductor and one person could be the passenger.  :-)  He was so happy to get to celebrate his birthday with his favorite people, and he of course loved opening all of his presents!  He has been playing nonstop with his lego train set, his lego construction set, his Jake tree house, his turtle vehicle, and his dart board!  We've read his new books and listened to his Frozen cd again and again already.  He is a very lucky little guy!  :-)

Tyler is 4!

We can't believe our sweet boy is four years old!!!  We feel so lucky to have spent the last four years hugging, kissing, & cuddling him, and watching him learn & grow.  :-)

Pre Birthday Fun :-)

After spending a frustrating morning searching the house for my missing phone (which Tyler had put in a "secret hiding spot") I thought we needed to spend some time having fun outside.  I knew that the farm near our neighborhood had just opened and Tyler and I were their only customers today.  He had a great time playing on the pirate ship, jumping on the giant moon bounce, going down the slides, and driving the fire truck.  :-)  I can't believe it's the last day he'll be three.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

This week Tyler got to go to one of his favorite indoor playgrounds two days in a row.  They have a dress up room where he can pretend to be a vet, and he loves the cat stuffed animal that is always in there.  He carries the cat all over the place.  He went to the park with Dan and unfortunately fell and hurt his knee.  Dan somehow managed to carry home a crying Tyler, the ride on motorcycle they had brought that was full of matchbox cars, and a soccer ball.  Father of the year, I told him!  :-)

I had forgotten what it's like to be at the park at 7pm.  :-)  Tyler insisted on wearing his pajama top and he had a great time playing with all of the kids.  There was one little boy there who he had played with in the fall.  Within a few minutes Tyler asked him, "Are you coming to my birthday party?"  :-)  Some of the older kids were pretending to sell ice cream and food.  Tyler bought multiple items and every time he started to walk away, he'd say, "Have a good day, sir!"  When he was driving the fire truck he said, "Mom, you can get in the fire truck.  You can be the fire dog!"  :-)

Tyler and I went to the library and had a frozen yogurt date on St. Patrick's Day.  He was very confused as to why some people weren't wearing green.  :-)  I got to have lunch with my friend, Chrissy, this week.  It was great to see her and her new engagement ring!!  We also had a visit from my friend, Julie.  :-)  We saw my parents twice, and I've been working on a very important photo project.

Little Pirate

This week Tyler enjoyed both the snow days and the warm days.  We walked to the volleyball court and played at the park, where he got covered in mud.  He attended his friend Zachary's 4th birthday party and had a great time.  We went to the library twice and Tyler participated in a Little Builders program there.  He had a playdate with his friends Zachary, Baby Austin, Noah, and Baby Alex.  Tyler got to spend time with my parents and with Dan's mom, which always makes him happy.  :-)  He also managed to turn our sofa into a pirate ship.  His new favorite phrase seems to be, "Let's go somewhere fun!"  I took him to one of the indoor playgrounds near our house and he had lots of fun!  :-)

Dan and I got to go on a date to our favorite Italian restaurant and I watched the season finale of The Bachelor with friends.  :-)   All the snow this year gave me time to paint Tyler's bookcase and finally decide on spring photos for our photo collage.  Tyler unfortunately missed his last soccer class because of the snow, but I'm glad he was able to end on a good note last week.  Of the six classes, three were great, two were not so great, and one was so so.  I realized that I could sum up a lot of experiences in my life that way.  So overall, not too bad.  :-)

Where's Tyler? :-)
