Dan's 37th Birthday :-)

 

 

 

This week Dan turned 37!  When I met him he was 27, so I can't believe I've now celebrated ten of his birthdays with him.  The day before his birthday, Tyler and I went to a special store that sells Yorkshire pudding, which Dan loves.  We also bought shrimp and cake, and Tyler picked out an Avengers birthday balloon.  He also let me trace his handprint to include on Dan's birthday sign.  The next day we gave him his cards and gift (the Sons of Anarchy Collector's Edition) then we went to his mom's house for lunch.  My parents were able to come too and we all had a great time celebrating!

 

Tyler had two playdates this week.  One with his friends, Reed and Baby Lily, and one with Noah and Baby Alex.  He did a great job at soccer this week (once we made it onto the field!)  I took him to the library to attend a Dr. Seuss event, but he decided that he wanted to go to the park instead.  It was no surprise that we were the only ones there, since almost everything was covered in snow.  :-)

 

I've always been a Joshua Jackson fan since his days on Dawson's Creek.  I've been wanting to watch his new show ever since I heard about it.  I somehow managed to watch the entire first season this week and am so glad there is going to be a second one!

We got more snow this week!  Dan was able to work from home again and we skipped soccer due to the cold.  We did go to Home Depot two days in a row and I have been painting our middle floor nonstop.  Tyler (dressed as Captain America) helped me out with a special project for his birthday party next month.  He enjoyed visits with my parents and Dan's mom, and we went to the library.  Dan took him to an indoor playground then he went to a different one with his friends Noah, Alex, Zachary, and Austin.  My brother Steven came over for dinner one night and we all loved catching up with him!

 

I really wanted a picture with Tyler in the snow but it was no easy task.  Thankfully, we finally got one and there's even a snowflake that looks like a heart in the picture.  We collect heart pictures so it was perfect.  I enjoyed watching the Oscars and had actually seen three of the movies (The Lego Movie, Wild, and Gone Girl).  Last year I hadn't seen any of the movies...not even Frozen.  Tyler loved dancing to the song from The Lego Movie and has been singing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle theme song every day.  :-)

 

Snow Days

 

Tyler did great at soccer this week!  He listened, had fun, and made it through almost all of the class.  My favorite moment was when he yelled, "Mama, I wanna snuggle!" from all the way across the field.  So he ran over and sat in my lap for a few minutes.  :-)

 

Dan and I were able to go to our favorite Japanese steakhouse for lunch on Valentine's Day.  Tyler enjoyed spending time with his Mummi.  :-)  Dan and I also took him to an indoor playground.  We loved having Dan home with us for a three day weekend, plus another day when he worked from home.  Tyler and I went to the library, we all played in the snow, and my parents came over for a visit.  :-)  I also enjoyed a girls night out with six friends from my mom's group.

Happy Valentine's Day

 

 

 

 

Happy Valentine's Day!!  I'm so happy it's on a Saturday this year so I can spend all day with my boys.  I couldn't ask for sweeter (or cuter!) valentines.  :-)

 

Tyler loved getting Valentine's Day cards in the mail from his grandparents!  He picked out Frozen valentines to give to his family and friends.  :-)  Dan came home with beautiful flowers on Thursday night.  It made me remember our very first Valentine's Day together, back in 2006.  He sent flowers and a bear to me at my school then I skipped a staff meeting (with permission of course!) to drive the hour it took to get to his house.  We went out to dinner and were the only people in the restaurant under the age of 60!  It was one of the best and most memorable holidays we've spent together.  :-)

Over the weekend, Tyler spent almost three hours at an indoor playground on Saturday, and almost three hours outside on Sunday.  He was so worn out, he decided to take a nap at 6:00.  While I don't think I've ever watched much of the Grammys in the past, I watched every second this year and couldn't stop singing, "Stay With Me".  :-) 

My dad came to watch Tyler play soccer this week but unfortunately, it wasn't Tyler's best practice.  I'm not sure who will be happier once soccer is over - me or Tyler!  ;-)   But we are hopeful that the next one will be better!  He enjoyed spending time with his Mummi while Dan and I had lunch at Dan's favorite restaurant.  He also got to spend time with my parents this week.  He had a playdate with his friends, Reed & Baby Lily.  He also had a Valentine's Day playdate with his friends, Zachary, Baby Austin, Noah, and Baby Alex.

She Loves You Ya Ya Ya

 

 

Tyler loves The Beatles.  He always sings, "I love you ya ya ya," so my mom got him a Beatles cd.  We listen to it every time we are in the car and he always requests that we listen to "She Loves You Ya Ya Ya" first.  :-)  It is a great song.

 

Tyler made it through an entire soccer class!  I guess the third time was the charm.  :-)  I loved watching him play and sharing the video (below) with Dan and Tyler's grandparents.  I love how he yells, "I'll get it!  I'll get it!"  The ending is so funny.

 

Tyler and Dan got their hair cut over the weekend then I got mine cut (much shorter than originally planned!) a few days later.  Tyler was less than cooperative taking a picture with me that day.  Tyler was very happy when Dan took him to an indoor playground.  He also had playdates with his friends Noah & Baby Alex, & one with Zachary, Baby Austin, Noah, & Alex.  I took him to the library twice, and on our way one day it was so cold, yet we passed two people walking outside wearing shorts.  I started to quietly pass judgment until I realized that Tyler was in the back seat wearing a Santa outfit.  He's been wearing the outfit at home all week but really wanted to wear it to the library.  Thankfully we only made it past the front desk before he was ready to take it off.  :-)

 

Dan watched the Superbowl at a restaurant with his friend Marco and had a great time.  Tyler and I were happy to have my parents over to keep us company during the 1st and 2nd quarters.  I told my dad that while he enjoys watching the actual football game, I like the singing & the commercials.  :-)  Tyler and I skipped the 3rd quarter but I was glad I watched the end of the game. 

 

We watched Dolphin Tale, which was adorable.  I am way too excited for Dolphin Tale 2 to arrive on Netflix tomorrow.  :-)
