Bow Tie Photo Shoot :-)

I've been taking a break from photo shoots since late November, but since we've been snowed in for two days, I decided to do some with Tyler!  I was shocked by how cooperative he was.  :-)  I had bought him a cute bow tie during my last shopping trip with my friend Vanessa.  Wearing one makes him think he is an ice cream man.  :-)

Valentine's Day :-)

I'm so happy to be home with my boys on Valentine's Day :-)  I can't believe it's my ninth Valentine's Day with Dan and my third with Tyler!

More Snow & The Olympics!

We got a lot of snow last night!!  Tyler enjoyed spending time outside and insisted on bringing his new hot dog & hamburger truck (that my parents gave to him for Valentine's Day) with him.  :-)  Last year he had to bring his mailman truck out in the snow!  I've enjoyed having time to catch up on the Olympics.  I can't believe how much Tyler has grown since the last Olympics.  :-)

A Special Event

This week Dan and I were invited to have dinner at the home of the Ambassador of Finland, in honor of Dan's mom.  It was a very surreal experience and certainly the fanciest dinner we've ever been to!  I kept watching everyone else at the table to figure out which of the seven utensils I should use, and when.  :-)  We are so proud of Dan's mom and her amazing recognition!  My parents were saints for watching Tyler for 10 hours in a row.  The next day, I picked him up after work and drove all the way home when we realized we'd left "Gog" at my parents' house.  They got into their car and spent over an hour in traffic bringing Tyler his most prized possession.  Tyler said, "I'm so happy!" when he saw that they had arrived.  Tyler enjoyed having a playdate with his friends, Reed, Dylan, & Baby Lily this week.  We also ran into my former coworker, Heather, and her family at Wendy's and had dinner with them.  Tyler picked where we'd eat that night and ended up with two prizes.  ;-)  He has been saying, "I do it all by myself," a lot lately and likes to take his boots off when we get home.  He picked out his own outfits this week, with some interesting results.  :-)

Bear Pajamas

When Tyler opened his bear pajamas on Christmas morning, he took one look at them and tossed them on the floor.  He seemed very unimpressed.  I loved these pajamas the second I saw them but they were too expensive (for pajamas).  But the day after Thanksgiving, they were 50% off and they became my one Black Friday purchase.  :-)  Tyler seemed pretty happy to wear them this week!

This week was busy!!  Tyler had a playdate with Zachary, Noah, and their baby brothers, then he saw them all again the next day, when we all visited our friends Carrie, Pat, Joey, & Joshua.  It had been a long time since we had all been together. Tyler and I went to the Superbowl party at his friends Reed & Dylan's house for the second year in a row.  Then we went back two days later for a playdate!  When I asked Tyler about Reed & Dylan's baby sister, Lily, he said, "She is very, very tiny.  She looks like a little doll."  :-)  He also had a playdate with his friends Colin, Baby Charlotte, Ella, and Emma.  I got to have a coffee date with my friend Julie, and my three day weekend turned into an unexpected four day weekend.

Our Funny Boy

Our five day weekend turned into a six day weekend which meant I only worked three hours last week (and that was okay with me!)  With so much time at home, I thought it was a good time to do some comparison photos (my favorite!)  Tyler was a good sport about it.  He enjoyed having a playdate with his friend, Grace, and he really liked her ice cream truck.  Thankfully my mom was able to find the same one on ebay and he loves it!  Tyler also went with me to Chrissy's house and loved playing with Brayden.  I got together with friends to watch the Bachelor Wedding special and had dinner with my friends, Barbara & Leigh.

Tyler has been very funny lately.  One day I said, "We're cleaning today, Tyler," and he said, "Why Mama?  Who's coming over?"  (He is on to me.)  Unfortunately he has chapped lips so we are constantly trying to get vasilene on them.  He has said, "That would be not a good idea mom," as well as, "Mama!  Helicopter guys don't need vasilene," and, "Maybe tomorrow.  I'm not sure.  I'm gonna think about it."  :-)  Since I love lip gloss and apply it ten times a day at least, I'll say, "Don't you like it, Tyler?" and he'll say, "Not so much!"  He just cracks us up.  :-)
