Crazy Weather

This week we had really crazy weather!  Ice one day, snow another, then a day so warm Tyler could've been wearing shorts!  Some of our plans had to be canceled due to the weather but Tyler was still able to have a playdate with Zachary, Joey, & Noah, and a playdate with Brooklyn & Baby Jason.  He also got to play with his friends Lyla & Elyse.  He loves saying all of his friends names over & over again.  :-)

Most of the time when I ask Tyler to count he says, "no!" but the other day he said, "8, 9, 10" many times in a row.  He typically skips "1" & "5" when counting to 10.  He has been wanting to watch Shawn the Train on youtube to learn about colors, numbers, & traffic rules.  When the (short) episodes end, he says, "bye Shawn".  He's been saying, "all done Mama" & "bye bye Mama" & "hi Dada". 

Tyler was so happy to get to see all of his grandparents this week!  While out on a walk with my mom he got to see a tow truck, which made his day!  :-)  He was playing with his surfboard this week for the first time in many months.  He's a bit bigger now!

Not Loving the Snow

Tyler did not enjoy the snow today...it is very, very cold.  We stayed outside for about two minutes, which means that it took longer to get him dressed.  :-)  He insisted that we bring the mailman truck.  He liked wearing his Christmas shoes from Dan's mom, which she bought for him in Finland!

This week Tyler went to his friend Colin's 2nd birthday party, where he got to meet Elmo!  He had two playdates with Brooklyn & Baby Jason, & he met Joey, Noah, & Zachary (who are all future big brothers!) for lunch.  He also attended Dylan's 4th birthday party!  We had a nice day at the playground before the freezing cold weather arrived.  He got to see all of his grandparents this week & loves the new mailman truck that my parents brought him. 

 

Tyler has been saying the names of all of his friends & counting to 10!  We can't believe it!  He has also started calling himself, "Ty Ty" instead of "da da".  :-)  He surprised me by saying "tow truck" this week.  We love hearing all of his new words.  He is now singing to his favorite song by Youngblood Hawke. 

 

 

The Best Helper

This week Tyler once again got to see his Papa on tv, once it was announced that the Hogettes would be retiring after 30 years as the Redskins most famous fans.  We were shocked by the media coverage of the story & took pictures of the homepages of msn, espn, yahoo, & more that reported the news as one of the top stories of the day.  Tyler managed to get his picture on tv once again during one of my dad's interviews.  We are very proud of all the wonderful things my dad did over the years as a Hogette. 

This week, Tyler got to have a playdate with Brooklyn & Baby Jason, & I was able to enjoy a yummy lunch date with my friend, Shanna, & a dinner date with my friend, Chrissy.  Tyler spent time with my parents while I visited my friend Shaina, & her baby, Mia.  He has been asking my mom, "What is that?" more & more.  We are amazed by how many words he is saying & he is putting more & more words together.  He likes to say, "mailman truck" & "trash truck".  :-) 

I often tell Tyler that he is my best helper.  He loves to help unload the dishwasher & he loves to take wet clothes & throw them into the dryer.  I even found him reading books to his "Gog" this week, which was adorable.  :-) 

Dan is thrilled that the Ravens won their last game & is hoping for another win this weekend!  :-)

Football Fun

This week my little brother, Steven, or "Uncle Sta-Sta" as Tyler calls him, moved to Texas.  We are missing him already & hoping he'll be back in Virginia sooner rather than later. 

We were so excited when the Redskins beat the Cowboys to win the NFC East.  My dad, who started the Hogettes when I was three years old, was interviewed on channel 4, channel 5, & channel 7!  In one of the interviews, we could see a picture of Tyler wearing a Redskins jersey.  Now whenever I ask Tyler who is on tv, he says, "Papa."  We are sad that the Redskins lost their first playoff game, but happy that it was such an exciting season.  Dan is thrilled that his favorite team, the Ravens, still have a chance to go to the Superbowl. 

Tyler had his second professional haircut this week!  I was amazed that he sat so still for so long.  He got to have a playdate with Joey, Noah, & Zachary, at Zachary's new house!  He also got to have two playdates with Brooklyn (who he now calls, "Brook") & Baby Jason, who he has always called, "baby".  We also hosted a pajama party at our house for seven of his friends.  :-) 

Little Fan

When I was in high school, I was in a show choir that performed with a jazz band.  One of the drummers from that band is now in a band called Youngblood Hawke.  Tyler and I may just be their biggest fans!  We watched them perform on Jimmy Kimmel, then again on Jay Leno (which we've watched again & again & again).  We love seeing previews for the upcoming season of American Idol, which plays their most famous song, "We Come Running".  I can't wait until they play in our hometown!  I told Dan, we must go!!  :-)

Happy New Year!

I can't believe it's 2013!  Like last year, Tyler woke up to watch the ball drop.  He must sense that something exciting is going on and doesn't want to miss it.   We loved having Dan home with us for so long. 

I asked for "movie dates" for Christmas.  Tyler stayed with my parents while Dan & I saw Skyfall (Dan's pick) & had lunch at Rio Grande.  Then Dan's mom & Aunt Caroline watched him while Dan & I saw This is 40 (my pick).  I also got to have a yummy Mexican lunch with my friend Shanna.   My friend Vanessa came up for the day so we could shop for my Matron of Honor dress for her April wedding.  I also got to have dinner with my friends Katie & Julie. 

Tyler is saying so many words now that I can't keep track.  He says football & alligator & every time I ask if he wants a new diaper, he says "no".  He loves dancing every day & loves his cars & trucks.  Vanessa gave him a blue car that he calls, "essa car".  :-)  He loves the fireman hat his Uncle Steven gave him.
