Tyler is 20 Months Old!

This week Tyler had a playdate with Brooklyn & Baby Jason & one with his friends Noah, Joey, & Zachary.  He loved seeing so many family members on Thanksgiving, and we loved having Dan home for four days!  We were all very happy to watch the Redskins & the Ravens both win this week, & we are looking forward to watching the games that are coming up. 

If I ask Tyler what letter his name starts with, he says, "T".  If I say, "one" he will say, "two".  And if I point to anything blue & ask what color it is, he'll say, "blue".  We do this all day long.  :-)  If I ask him what people do on the toilet he says, "pee pee" and "poo poo" (although he is nowhere near ready for that!!).  It's so funny!  He is also requesting cheese, juice, apples, & beans, since he can say all of those words.  He cracks us up. :-)

Just like last year, I was unable to commit to just one Christmas card design this year. 

I can't believe how much he's changed from last year...

I have always had Tyler's birth announcement on our refrigerator (and probably always will!) but lately I've been finding myself wishing I had used a different picture.  I had sent them out soon after Tyler was born, but then I took a picture of him that would have been perfect.  I looked at the site we used to make his announcement & they still had the same design.  I was able to switch the picture & order a new one. The announcement arrived, is now on display, & it makes me happy!  :-)

Thanksgiving :-)

                                       Tyler has grown so much since last year!  :-)

We were so excited about Thanksgiving this year!  I kept asking Tyler all week who he would be seeing on Thursday.  He was able to say, "Gaga, Papa, Mummi, St-st, Sh, Ka Ka, Ba-ba, Ju-Ju, Mama, & Dada" & "Dada" (for himself!)  I'd remind him that he'd get to see aunt Kristen's parents too!  We knew it would be so fun to all be together this year, especially with it being Baby Julia's first Thanksgiving.  Tyler and I made place cards for each person, which had their name & picture on the front, & why we are thankful for them on the back.  :-) 

My parents did an amazing job hosting Thanksgiving again this year!  Their house looked beautiful, everything was so delicious, & Tyler had so much fun playing with his Cousin Ben.  My sister-in-law, Kristen, made my favorite pumpkin pie dessert.  :-)  We were all very excited & happy that the Redskins beat the Cowboys too.  :-)  It was a wonderful Thanksgiving! 

Lots of Time at Home

This week Tyler & I both felt sick.  :-(  We both had colds and Tyler had a bad cough.  He didn't get to see any friends for almost a week.  Once he was feeling better, he got to have a playdate with Zachary, Joey, & Noah, and one with Brooklyn & Baby Jason.  It felt so great to get out of the house & to see friends!  I was able to have coffee with my friends Barbara & Leigh, & lunch with my friend Tara. 

A few years ago, I started mailing our Christmas cards the day before Thanksgiving, so that they would arrive on Black Friday (which I consider to be the start of the Christmas season!)  I've always been able to wait until the day after Thanksgiving to put up our Christmas tree, but this year I put it up on Nov. 15th.  It made me SO happy to be able to look at our tree, the lights, & all of our ornaments this week, especially since we were home so much.  Tyler has been wearing Christmas pajamas for weeks now.  I love the holiday season!  :-)

Tyler has been saying, "blue" & "shoe" & "no no no" any time he sees Jenna the cat (or a picture of her) or if he knows he is doing something he isn't supposed to.  :-)

Chatty Boy

This week Tyler got to see all of his grandparents.  He loves them all so much!  He has names for all of his aunts, uncles, & cousins, and loves to see pictures of all of his family members each day.  We can't wait to see everyone at once for Thanksgiving, but he'll be missing Aunt Caroline & Uncle Brian, who will be staying in California. 

Tyler had playdates with Cole & Brayden this week, as well as Brooklyn & Baby Jason.  He had a great time at his friend Sophia's 2nd birthday party.  I had dinner with my friend, Robbie, and got to visit my sister-in-law, Kristen, and my niece, Julia. 

I finally sat down & wrote out all of the things that Tyler says.  I cannot believe his words have doubled in the last month.  This week he started saying, "treasure". 

Wedding Weekend

This week Tyler stayed with my parents for two nights while Dan and I went out of town.  Dan's best friend, Marco, was getting married, & Dan was the best man.  :-)  He did a wonderful job on his toast & I loved taking pictures during the rehearsal and wedding.  This was only the second time that Dan and I have been away from Tyler for two nights in a row.  Tyler had such a great time with his "Gaga" & Grandpa! 

Tyler has been talking up a storm lately!  He knows how to say "pee pee", "me", "beep beep", & "cheese".  He went with me to vote and amazingly, the whole process took only a few minutes & he was so good in his stroller.  We went to the park afterwards & we also hosted a pajama party this week for his baby & toddler friends.  He had a playdate with Brooklyn & Baby Jason, & I took him to an indoor playground.  Nov. 5th marked the 7th anniversary of the day Dan and I met!  :-)

Hurricane Sandy

 

 

This week, in addition to his Halloween events, Tyler had a playdate with Brooklyn & Baby Jason, & he had visits from all of his grandparents & from Uncle Steven!  We tried to let him spend as much time as possible outside before the hurricane hit.  Once the rain and wind came, he didn't understand why we wouldn't let him go out and play.  We were thankful that we didn't lose power.  Tyler has learned to say "baby", "bee", & "apple".  He loves looking at his photo books & naming all of his family members.  :-)
