Neighborhood Celebration :-)

Every year our neighborhood has a "celebration".  Although I have lived here for seven years and Dan has lived here for five years, this is the first year that we have actually gone to the celebration.  We met up with Tyler's friends Brooklyn, Baby Jason, Sophia, Baby Emily (who was sleeping), & Avery, and we also ran into his friend Colin!  Tyler seemed to really enjoy the petting zoo, the animal races, and watching the crazy rides.  Dan won him a red, white, & blue basketball.  :-)  We also enjoyed the lemonade and fried reeces peanut butter cups!  We were able to walk there, which was nice, but Tyler was a bit too tired (and perhaps a bit too small!) to go on rides this year.  Dan and I enjoyed watching the fireworks show later on in the evening, which thankfully, didn't wake Tyler. 

Tyler is 14 Months Old!

This week we had visits from Chrissy and Brayden and from Barbara, Leigh, & Baby Rylan!  We also spent Friday evening at the pier with some of our good friends (and Dan could come too!)  We attended two playdates at Brooklyn and Baby Jason's house.  One of the playdates included 10 adults and 14 babies!!  We had a great lunch at Dan's mom's house and Tyler stayed with my parents one night so Dan and I could have a date night.  We met Reed and Baby Joey and their moms at the park one day and we bought a very small pool for Tyler to play in on our deck (the best $4 I've ever spent at Target!)  Dan and I took him to the neighborhood pool and he seemed to like both the big pool and the baby pool.  :-)

Tricks

This week Tyler started waving and saying, "bye bye" whenever anyone had to leave.   SO cute!!  Also, if we say, "Where is your nose?" he will put his hand on top of his nose (and mouth) :-)  He loves to read his books (sometimes independently), watch the trash truck, and move backwards on his giraffe ride on toy.  His favorite stuffed animal is the dog my friend Liz sent to him from England.  He can now wear 18 month pajamas!

This week we celebrated Noah's 1st Birthday and then we attended a joint 1st birthday party for Noah & Joey.  :-)  We also met Brooklyn & Baby Jason at Starbucks one day then walked to the park to meet up with Noah & Joey.  We went to Moes and Ice Berry with Julie and I went to a mom's dinner at Bonefish.  My parents watched Tyler while Dan and I saw "What to Expect When You're Expecting" and Outback to celebrate my birthday.  :-)  Unfortunately, this week Tyler started throwing tantrums...

May Events

This week we celebrated Mother's Day and my 32nd birthday.  Tyler was so sweet (as always!) on both days and even took a three hour nap on my birthday.  :-)  We were able to see my parents on both days and my brother Steven on Mother's Day.  My parents spoiled me as always!  I also got a call from my nephew Ben who said, "Happy Birthday Sara!"  So sweet!

We went to a playdate at Brooklyn & Baby Jason's house and they came to our house one afternoon to play.  Tyler keeps calling all babies "dada"  :-).  We went to a playdate at Noah's house with our baby boy friends.  Michelle had a cake to celebrate my birthday - so sweet!  We also celebrated Michelle's birthday by having a playdate at our house!  My friend Shanna treated me to a fabulous birthday dinner at Sweetwater, which was so good & relaxing!!  Tyler had a great time playing outside with Dan and his Grandma Wilson.  :-)

Tyler's Aunts :-)

This week Tyler got to see both of his aunts!  His Aunt Caroline was visiting from California.  Tyler enjoyed visiting with her & with his Grandma Wilson at our house.  We met them at Reston Towne Center for lunch one day.  Tyler's Aunt Kristen celebrated her Baby "Sprinkle" this past weekend.  My mom did an amazing job on the food & decorations & I loved seeing all of the adorable baby clothes.  We are so excited about Kristen and Shane's baby girl and we can't wait to see Ben as a big brother!  We also had a playdate with a lot of our baby friends at Reed's house this week.  We got together with Brooklyn & Baby Jason and we had a playdate with Baby Luke.  Tyler impressed Luke's mom with his dance moves.  She told me I must get them on video (I keep trying!)  :-)

Tyler has been saying "gog" for dog, waving "hi" and "bye", and clapping both hands together (although he keeps his left hand in a fist!)  I realized that he has two more teeth (#11 and #12) coming in on top.  We discovered that Tyler loves beans!  We went to Moes to get him some pinto beans and he called the cashier "dada".  :-)

Celebrity Sightings

This week our friends Chrissy and Brayden came over to visit!  We also had a playdate at our house with nine of Tyler's baby friends.  Tyler spent Saturday night at my parents' house so that Dan and I could stay at the Washington Hilton hotel.  I wanted to watch the celebrities arrive for the White House Correspondents Dinner.  We were not disappointed!  We saw Reese Witherspoon, Charlize Theron, Kelly Ripa, Barbara Walters, Woody Harrelson, David Arquette, Elle Macpherson, Ann Curry, Rosario Dawson, & many more. 

Dan and I took Tyler to the soccer fields near our house this weekend.  At first Tyler was only interested in playing with Dan's keys & phone.  :-)  But then he started pushing his wagon, waving to the airplanes, and dancing.  So adorable!  He has danced a few more times since then.  He loves to climb the stairs each day (whenever he is allowed to!) and on Mondays and Thursdays he likes to watch the trash truck.  He loves to drink water out of his two favorite sippy cups but this is causing him to have to wear multiple shirts per day.  :-)
