Tyler's 1st Birthday Invitation

When Dan gets home from work, Tyler yells, "dada!" SO cute!! He loves to play outside on the deck and he especially likes to see and hear all of the airplanes. This week we visited Chrissy & Brayden and we had a playdate with Avery at our house. We also went to Avery's house for a playdate with all of our friends from our mom's group. We got to see Baby Jason (& his big sister Brooklyn). He is so tiny & cute! The last time I counted Tyler took 20 steps in a row!

We have been preparing for Tyler's 1st Birthday which is only days away. In a way, this has been the fastest year of all time. On the other hand, we feel like we've had Tyler for many years. :-) Tyler is enjoying all of the birthday cards that have been arriving in the mail. He also loves the gift he received from the Childers family in South Carolina. :-)

Outdoor Boy

Tyler loves to be outside! In fact, he is not happy when it is time to go back inside and he lets you know it! He loves to play on our deck and he loves bubbles. This week, Dan's five week leave from work ended. Tyler and I loved having him home with us. I especially enjoyed being able to get ready in the morning (which is not so easy now!) and drinking Dan's amazing coffee everyday (mine cannot compare). I know that Tyler loved all the time with his daddy because all day long he continues to say, "dada". :-)

Dan and I went to the 3rd birthday party for my twin goddaughters. We also attended a game night with friends. Tyler and I went to a St. Patrick's Day party with many of his baby friends. We brought a chocolate pudding pie with green cool whip on top. Tyler was given a brown bag so he could collect "gold". Instead he wanted to eat both the bag and the gold coins. We also had dinner with Julie at Moes this week. Tyler was able to eat for free & he enjoyed watching the ceiling fan.

We love March babies & there are many of them! This week my friend Shanna's baby Jason was born! Also, my friend Nichole had a baby girl named Eva! Tyler is looking forward to meeting his new friends at his upcoming birthday parties. My friend Barbara and I visited our friend Leigh and her new baby boy, Rylan. He slept almost the whole time & was such a good baby model while I photographed him. :-)

Dan and I had seen Tyler take one or two steps a few times in the last week or two. This past Saturday, he took five steps in a row at least four times! Then yesterday he took nine steps in a row! SO exciting!! :-)

A Trip to JMU!

I had not been to JMU's campus since I graduated in 2002. We decided to drive down to Harrisonburg and stay the night. We ate lunch at McAlister's, where we ordered Tyler's very first meal at a restaurant. :-) (He only ate a few bites.) We went to the campus bookstore to get shirts then we walked around campus very briefly because it was very cold! It was such a neat feeling to see my husband & son walking past the education building where I spent so many hours. We went to the Valley Mall, which I could barely recognize, and Klines for ice cream. Tyler slept the entire way there and the entire way home - a miracle! He must have said "dada" 100 times in two days. :-)

Tyler is 11 Months Old!

Tyler was very lucky this week because he got to see some of his favorite people: his grandmas, his grandpa, his cousin Ben, his uncle Steven, his uncle Shane, & his Aunt Kristen. He also attended his friend Zach's 1st birthday party and he went to a Dr. Seuss Party on March 2nd. He had a few other playdates with his friends and had a lot of fun!

Tyler loves to look out all of the windows. He also loves to play with the vent, the baby gate, and anything that is NOT meant to be a toy. :-) He has discovered that he can do a "monster" voice which he seems to enjoy doing very much. He is trying very hard to drink out of a sippy cup and is now eating cereal out of a snack trap. :-)
