Halloween

 

It was so nice having Halloween on a Saturday this year.  Brady spent most of the day biking outside and was very excited to go trick or treating.  He lasted a lot longer trick or treating this year compared to previous years.  Dan was able to walk around the neighborhood with us, while Tyler opted to attend a concert with friends.

Brady wanted to dress up like an astronaut again this year.  I'm glad his costume from last year still fit him!  For school dress up day, he wore his Starbucks barista costume from two years ago & looked adorable!

I couldn't resist buying Brady the Halloween pajamas I saw at Marshalls (which he wore many nights!) and these pink, colorful bats I found at Target...

October

This month's highlights include Brady's fifth grade concert, Tyler going to Bryce with his friend, Leo, and Tyler going to a sleepover with four other friends.  Both boys have been biking a lot, and Brady and I made friends with a neighborhood cat who we often see near the basketball court.  We've been cheering for the Commanders and Ravens and enjoying the fall weather.  We've also enjoyed visits from my parents!

Brady’s Concert

I loved watching Brady during his 5th grade concert!  It was a rock ‘n roll concert and Brady wore a Beatles shirt!  The fifth graders performed songs by The Beatles, Queen (Dan’s dad’s favorite band), Dolly Parton, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, and Elvis Presley!  I had noticed that Brady kept listening to the song 9 to 5 over and over again on my phone, so I had a feeling that would be one of their concert songs.  Brady seemed to enjoy dancing and jumping during the concert, and he looked adorable!

We had lots of visitors this month!  In addition to my parents (who visit every week and a half or two weeks), we got to see my cousin, Christian, and Dan's mom, Kaija. Her birthday was the day before we saw her, so we decided to celebrate.  Dan, Kaija, and I went out to lunch and then Kaija and I walked around Ashland.  One week, Tyler went to Pocahontas State Park on Thursday after school.  Then on Friday Dan took him to Richmond to go mountain biking and to the homecoming football game.  That Saturday, he went mountain biking in Massanutten with his friend, Leo.  Brady has been enjoying gymnastics, trips to the dump, and playing with playdoh.  They had Constitution Day at school, and he's been listening to Constitution songs and a responsibility song over and over again.  We also went to Kings Dominion and Brady went on his first ferris wheel ride.  He liked it and wanted to go a second time!  I was shocked when the workers said it was okay to take photos while up so high!  Tyler has been meeting up with friends at Skateland on the weekends.
